I was vectoring guys for the ILS 15R at BWI about 0200 local yesterday morning and an AAL told me the winds at 3000 were 180 @ 95. I had to start the dogleg turn at about a 5 mile base because they were swinging so much. They were showing 330 across the ground on the downwind even though I had slowed them to 210 and between 90 and 110 kts on the final (Jets not not props).

Even had one SWA showing 80 kts on a 5 mile final, think thats the first time I have seen that.

It's been light lately, but we had 9 passengers on the first flight today. :)

Yeah, the weather yesterday was good times. We finally got off the ground at 10am with a full boat and it had really improved. Still garbage (I'm trying to get that put into a PIREP ;)), but flyable. And what the hell are guys doing flying into BWI at 0200?!

We were pretty steady until about 2:15ish Mon am. Don't know if it is ferry flights just repositioning a/c or just aircraft whose departures were delayed due to mx or wx at their origination. Not too many departures after about 0030L. At one point a little before 0100 I had 7 or 8 arrivals on freq.
 
No flying up here in Bangor. Nobody wanted to test the waters! Oh well, we got the night off...

I drove from Bar Harbor up to BGR last night between 9 and 10. Honestly that was the scariest drive I have ever made, and I've driven is some nasty winter weather around here. Dark, lots of rain, not lit roads, crap in the road and the wind. I was wired on adrenaline for two hours after that then I crashed hard and slept for 9 hours.

Yeah, i'm holding down the local flight training market while searching for a "real job" as an engineer.

For hydration, if you are looking for beer, head to Paddy Murphys which is downtown, the Sea Dog is a good place for beer and food too. Me and another JCr have walked from the Sea Dog to Paddys. There is also the Whig & Courrier just across the block from Paddys. I have to cook for the family here in just a bit, but I can play guide at 7-8 or so.
 
I think Paddy's was mentioned as a possibility. Been to the Sea Dog twice already! We might be going to Orono for dinner but going down by the river is on our list, probably a little later anyway.

Orono is great too (lots of college girls to get in trouble with). I'd recommend the basement of Pats for pizza and cheaper beer. Woodmans across the street is a nice quieter bar older students and such, and the bear brew is more of the younger college crowd. At least that was the breakdown a year ago when I left.
