Worst plane to fuel!

MU-2's are the worst for me. Lear 25's are bad.

ERJ's, CRJ's when you have to OW them.

DC-9's due to in accruate guages and vent easily.

AN-124's, they can be a pain too, and use several of our trucks

747's all four models... They just take too much fuel.

Try 5000 gal. G5 over wing. Lears w/ tip tanks, mu2's twin otter, piaggio has very slow single point. I hate older 172 that don't have the foot step! Conquest can be tricky if you're short and needs top off with one fueler

That sucks having to do a G5 over wing. The Lear 36 I find to be the worst of the Lears with tip tanks. If you want a slow single point, try the G100/G150. Those freaking suck.

I agree with the MU2. If your fueling it by yourself you have to do the inboards, then out boards then 30 per tip if you dont want to tip it over. Good workout though...

I always hated fueling the Moo when I had to and always try and help the line guys when I can...

"This side... That side... This side.. That side.. This side... That side.."

Ugh..

MU2. I once made the mistake of having the ladder I was standing on under the tip tank. So, next thing I know, the tip tank is resting on top of the ladder and I can't get the ladder out. I realize I need to put gas in the other tank to get my ladder out but the other tank is so high in the air I had to go find a really big ladder to reach it. OMG. I was like 16 and scared to death....

All worked out fine in the end and thank Gawd nobody was watching.

HAHA!. I've done that before. I hate topping off short 260 because the fuel overflow valve sprays right over the single point refueling port. If you're not paying attention you can get a Jet A shower.

How about the Diamond DA20? I bet you $100 you took a fuel bath the first time you fueled one.

On a slightly more positive note, the best plane I ever had to over-wing fuel was a lear jet with tip tanks!!

Unless you start daydreaming, forget about the fuel split limits for tip tank fills, and step back to see the thing leaning precariously low on one wing......never did that one

my vote is for the MU2.
The wing drops about two feet on either end, 6 tanks. The owner told me, ok... 40 in the inner left tank, then 40 in the inner right, then 30 in the left mains, then 30 in the right, then 20 on the left tip, ok now 20 on the right tip tank.... mean while the wing is drooping down and I hear weird cracking noises... oh, and then can you repeat the process again? said the owner.

Got a new one to add to my list the 737-300 with an inop panel... no power at all. Dripsticking the wings while holding the valves, fun times and that is Southwest for you. C-206 is all right, MU 2 just plain sucks, over winging the Maddog sucks, it just takes too damn long. The trunks on the Beechjet sucks. The airport I used to work at, we just tell the CAP to hit up the self-serv for the top off's, we got tired of their .3, 1.5, 3.4 a side BS. I over winged just about everything from a C-152 up to a 737-200. I put fuel on a 727 before and the fwd cargo ended up with 2000 gallons of fuel before.

The L-1011 was also kind of a PITA to fuel. The fueling pressure would rise, then shutoff over and over again.

I heard my baby being brutalized here. First of all: The Mu-2 is all that is MAN. Secondly, start at the mains, move to the inboards, and have two hoses to do the tips. Thirdly, I can't believe there's a discussion about this. You are lucky enough to bask in the glory of the genius of the Mitsi, and you're bitching about fueling it? You're just lucky to even see it! Just remember, every time you see an Mu-2 and groan, that once there were men who flew ridiculous machines at absurd speeds with props falling off, doors self-destructing, and flaps only working on one side. These men were called Mitsi-pilots, and they were better than you could ever hope to be. I will confess that the Bitchjet 400 (not the A, but the straight 400) is kind of female dog to fuel.
