Worst inflight situation!

That would be a hard one to explain to your boss. Glad you made it down sir.

Yeah, especially since it was MY mistake that we didn't take a full load of gas from the tanker an hour before when we had the chance.

It was a sickening feeling to tell ATC to "alert the Coast Guard in Elizabeth City...."

A pretty crazy event.

In-flight Fire! Soon after the smoke started to enter the cabin the flames were soon to follow. Before I knew it I was on fire flying a flaming airplane thru the sky. Due to thick smoke in the cockpit & not being able to see the panel, my only option was to hold the door open with my left hand to maintain forward visibility( & breathe) & get it on the ground as fast as I could. I barely made it out alive!

Left engine failure around (within a couple of knots) of Vr on departure from TEB. Pulled her airborne when plane SHARPLY veered towards the left and attempted to exit active runway without my permission.

Actually took me a second after the fact to realize/comprehend it was an actual engine failure.

Heart rate during and immediately after = 1,000 BPM.

1. Hydraulic system blew on a Lear 60 during takeoff roll. Ended up stopping in the grass at the end of the runway.

2. Having pax break out a kilo of coca-cola and go skiing during the flight with hookers. They started to have sex on the plane, right in the aisle and such. Again, this is in a Lear 60 so it is a very small flight deck and cabin. It was a VERY long four hour flight and I was very scared in case they left something onboard after they departed.

We ended up getting the plane professionally cleaned. :)

Has anyone ever had a wing fire - I see checklists for them but have never heard of one happening...

Alex.

There's only one way that would end in my book.

:o

Sorry about that man!

:D

1)Electrical short on the ground with smoke

2)carburetor cracked on take-off resulting loss of power...engine tried to shut off as I reduced power to land on another runway, oh yeah, no place for an off field landing, either make the field or someones living room <shudder!><shudder!>(shudder!)

3) My entire time teaching International students from China.</shudder!></shudder!>

Nothing super exciting but:

1. lost both vac pumps in IMC-172
2. partial power loss after takeoff-172( just came out of 100hr and they forgot to tighten one of the fuel injector lines)
3. Single engine landing-Seminole (wouldnt restart after I shut it down)
4. rapid decompression at 240- Merlin
5. lightning strike-same Merlin
6. partial electrical failure at night (byproduct of #5 two flights later)- same Merlin again
