Looks like suspect dead, no other deaths, and the temple had private security.
“I’ve always said that I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize. I don’t respect that at all. If you believe that there’s a heaven and a hell, and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life, and you think that it’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward—and atheists who think people shouldn’t proselytize and who say just leave me along and keep your religion to yourself—how much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?
“I mean, if I believed, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that a truck was coming at you, and you didn’t believe that truck was bearing down on you, there is a certain point where I tackle you. And this is more important than that.”
Penn Jillette
A Christian missionary was in Alaska trying to convert the local Eskimo. He told them of heaven and hell and how accepting Jesus would save them from an eternity in fire. The Eskimo, horrified, asked, “Does this mean all my ancestors who didn’t know about Jesus are burning in Hell due to ignorance?”
The missionary responded, “Oh no! God is good and would never punish someone for not knowing what they could not know!”
The Eskimo replied, “Then why did you tell me?!”
“ Cool story, Penn, but it doesn't make you correct, and it doesn't entitle you to force your beliefs on someone that isnt interested. ““I’ve always said that I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize. We'll always sort ourselves into groups, but history has shown and continues to do so that religion is the outlier in terms of fervor. If there was no such thing as religion, people would still go to war. People fight over beliefs. You can have beliefs without religion. Just look at politics.
Yea no one has ever been stabbed at the end of of a sportsball game before. We'll always sort ourselves into groups, but history has shown and continues to do so that religion is the outlier in terms of fervor.
I mean, I'm not going to launch a war on my neighbor because he likes Milwaukee tools instead of Dewalt.
Light years difference on the body count and you know it.Yea no one has ever been stabbed at the end of of a sportsball game before.
But it negates your point. Just because you wouldn’t stab someone over their tool choice doesn’t mean humanity wouldn’t fight over stupid things like who wins a sportsball game.Light years difference on the body count and you know it.

Even the most violent football (soccer) hooligans generally only brawl with specific rivals. Religious brawling tends to be more about either you're wirh us or you're not.
Erasing religious deaths from human history eliminates 1 of the top 5 causes for war. It’s third BTW. So there are still 4 other reason humans war.One data point, versus The Holocaust, The Crusades, The Middle East, etc.
Still way more than sportsball and that's a poor attempt to say, "well they did it too so it's all ok".Erasing religious deaths from human history eliminates 1 of the top 5 causes for war. It’s third BTW. So there are still 4 other reason humans war.
1. Territorial expansion and conquest (approximately 115 million deaths)
2. Ideological differences (approximately 90 million deaths)
3. Religious differences (approximately 63 million deaths)
4. Dynastic and power struggles (approximately 47 million deaths)
5. Ethnic and tribal tensions (approximately 20–30 million
I don’t know if you people live in some utopia mindset where religion solves world peace, but it’s laughable.
to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?
I believe the point is that religion isn't the primary reason for most fights not to justify the fights themselves.Still way more than sportsball and that's a poor attempt to say, "well they did it too so it's all ok".
And if you're to believe in such things, the Great Flood is about 20 million alone from one 'god'. Your god apparently, is that ok?
It's been reason enough and I'd submit the most illogical of them all.I believe the point is that religion isn't the primary reason for most fights not to justify the fights themselves.
I'm okay with the great flood just like people that say it's just mother nature are okay with hurricanes or earthquakes.
