Also not illegal to yell bomb on an airplane. But like it or not, statistically the number one religious thing to say repeatedly before killing someone in public lately is Allah Akbar.

Further this passenger was apparently soaking wet sweating and didn’t turn the alarm off for over a half hour and wasn’t listening to anyone.

Religion doesn’t need to take precedence over not being or doing • things in a small tube inches from other people.

It’s also not illegal to eat warm tuna and eggs on the cockpit but sometimes I look down at the nearest airport and think the diversion is not such a bad idea.

Killing someone in public lately?

As I recall, in Minnie it was “get the f***k out of the car.”

Or am I missing something?

Looks like this guy was in the very back, aisle or window seat. He is literally sandwiched in. Assuming he had not transported a gun or a bomb (hey, that’s what TSA is for), I don’t see how he’s about to go on a killing spree.

But I know my place. I wouldn’t pray on a (western) airplane.

Blessed be America. A nation reborn.

Context is what makes it illegal.

This food is bomb. Is ok.

I put a bomb on this place because the food is so bad. Illegal.

Screaming and chanting religious phrases that are often used before killing someone or people around you. Probably should be illegal.

Either way every single customer around that guy wanted to be on the ground.
This is a pretty wild take man.

Everyone else's ignorance isn't that persons problem. Is someone going to lose their mind when one of the Somali workers in MSP (without whom that place would absolutely grind to a halt) goes for a prayer break in the corner of some gate? If people got out of their bubble and realized that yes, people of other cultures and religions generally exist out in the world they wouldn't give it a second thought.
No they wouldn’t… but praying in a corner and praying on an airplane are vastly different from an outsiders point of view. Point being if the passenger had chosen a different flight that would have allowed for them to fly before or after their prayer time this wouldn’t have been an issue.

No one should have to hide who they are or what they believe in to satisfy and submit to the demands of an uneducated mob of bigots. Doing so just further enables the hatred and allows the intolerance to be normalized.
I’m not advocating for people to hide who they are… praying on an airplane doesn’t seem like a good idea given the current worldwide environment.

Creating a policy or law that infringes on one’s right to freedom of religion? That sounds like a civil rights violation.

Why do you hate freedom? When did you become a communist? - things that would be said if the same logic applied that would prevent Christians from being able to say Grace at Cracker Barrel.
I never said to create a policy or law to do any of that.

That’s exactly what you advocated though. Hide his faith by ignoring the normal call/practice to pray at specific times. Take another flight so people don’t see him pray. You want him to hide his faith.

The solution isn’t for Muslims to hide their prayer, it’s to educate the idiot masses and punish them for their bigotry, not the person freely practicing their faith as is their right.

Whatever dude… I find your accusation lacking merit and your call for punishment of others who don’t agree with your opinion laughable…

"perhaps a slight delay in prayer… or perhaps opting for an alternative flight would have been more prudent"

How you would involuntarily get this passenger to acquiesce to that idea?
