My experience is each time you apply for a new posting they will update your last submission to under review, even though you weren't selected for that one. Does that mean the will consider you based on the past submission? I would think not since you have to re-apply each time.
 
Internal applicant here. Interviewed a couple weeks ago and just got the call that I was not selected. Decisions should be on the way for those of you on here who interviewed recently. I'm so grateful I was able to make it past the test on my first try and get the interview. It was invaluable experience and I can't wait to apply next time. Good luck to those still waiting!

Also for those of you looking into the "under review" status, I believe it changes to that as soon as they look at your app. I was hired for two southwest positions and they still just show under review. I don't think they do much on that site after they look at your application. You'll have to reapply for each posting.

I think the part the bulk of us are concerned about is the "submission received" status.
 
A friend of mine who was an internal candidate just announced he was part of the new hiring class about two days ago.
 
Friend of mine got in internally as well. She's been with the company less than 2 years, but prior airline supervisory experience, year plus as a CS Supe at WN, and Commercial/CFI/Dispatch tickets.
