Wiz Wheel Wondering...

The only time I have ever used a whizwheel was for checkrides.

They are pretty useful for knowledge tests as well. I used my Electronic E6B for the ATP written several months ago; was probably the first time it had seen use in several years.

Yeah, I would probably actually use an electronic E6B if I had one, but I just have the old cardboard whizwheel. Awfully fun trying to use that to come up with time/distance/eta on a checkride while you're getting bumped around, but it does head off the possibility of the examiner going "Hey guess what, your batteries are dead!"
 
Personally I really like the E6B, I think it's very fast, simple, and reliable. Just because something doesn't have a computer screen and batteries doesn't mean it's bad...sometimes it's better.
