It sure is windy outside today.

I was out spotting too...Minsters Chapel @ 31L. I have some good photos and video that I'll make sure to post here! The peek gust I heard over tower was 49kts. One MD-80 had to do a go-around due to a cockpit windshear altert.

Anyone flying in or out of DFW today? I am spotting here and the wind is VERY GUSTY!!!

I landed there about 1030 just as the wave of dust blew through.

Taxiing up C I would slide a bit as the wind funneled between hangars.

Useing 31L&R really slows things down.

I executed my first go around in an Ameriflight aircraft today trying to get into KSPS. I banged it in on the second try. The 99 was rockin and rolling on all the approach to landings this morning.

It was my leg down to GRK. On climb out on 31L we had a Windshear caution (yellow amber warning as it was an INCREASING performance windshear). For a good minute we were indicating 5000+ Feet per minute. My landing at GRK was a 25 knot crosswind with a sudden updraft at 20 feet with a loss of 10 knots. I added power just at the right time to keep from slamming onto the runway. The captain had the leg back to DFW. We were the only plane to land on 36L. Windows were 310-30 gusting to 40. Everyone else was sent around. He planted it nicely with a kickout at the end. FWIW I fly the CRJ-700.

I live just north of the airport. Its weird not seeing any departures going straight north/south. Then I see diagonal departures. Thats even more of and odd site. The diagonals are almost always for landings. Just curious for anyone flying today? Were they using only 31L for departures and 31R for arrivals? Or pretty much both.

Yea the aircraft that were departing around noon would take off and then go into a 15-20 degree bank until 2000'!!!!!!!! (Except for the 777 that departed around 12:20)! On days like are the heavier aircraft less likely too be bullied around by those fierce crosswinds on departure???

BUF is gusting to 49kts right now. 60,000 without power, tonight will be 0 degrees. flooded streets in areas. blizzard white out conditions.

I just landed in ALB not too long ago....X-wind gusting to 30 kts and 1/2sm in blowing snow. Fun! At least the runway was dry
