Just out of curiosity, when the captain is resting does the "FO in command" get to log PIC time?
NO, But at that point does 2 hours of TPIC really matter? You have already made it to your "career airline"

even though that doesn't apply to me, I do remember that from a thread I made about this
Remember the written is only good for 2 years.

This is a question I have been meaning to ask aswell. I should, hopefully, be over the mins at most majors by the time I am 21. It looks like a few airlines (Delta, Continetal, Northwest) only require the written to have been taken. Southwest requires the ATP, it does not seem like it is just a prefrence as they even say the minimum age for the job is 23 (the age requirment for the ATP).
Alex.
psht :whatever:Listen to grandpa Seggy.
Seriously, college was the best time of my life.
OK, I know the phrase is "if the min wasn't good enough, it wouldn't be the min," but when you're trying for a job, your chances are GREATLY improved if you're not just squeaking in at the mins.
Your odds with 0 TPIC? worse than the powerball if you are lacking in the chest area and aren't the kid of a scab.
A good number of the old IAH CPs are scabs, and they got their kids in there very early with minimal qualifications. One (kid) has been a total PITA for Captains.
The lack of a TPIC minimum was in place to get a select few kids hired there.
I could get my stuff walked in there the day I meet the minimums. I probably wouldn't get an interview without some TPIC though.
