Will Amflight hire into BE99?

According to Airline Pilot Central, Amflight's minimums are down to 25 ME, and they say some bases are upgrading into the BE99 as low as 1500TT and 200ME showing that the pilot shortage is hitting them too, but it still says that to be hired straight into the BE99 you must have 1800TT and 350ME.

My question is, is there any chance they will hire into the BE99 with less than those numbers; say around 1400TT with 150 or so ME? Would it make a difference if you already had 20-40 hours of turbine experience (although not PIC) in a King Air? Is it true that the BIL base isn't very well liked due to it's remote location, and if so, would it make a difference if you were willing to go there since it's all turbine equipment? Love to hear your guys' thoughts! Thanks!

I think Amflight would hire into anything right now...anywhere.

Apply, tell them you want to go to Salt Lake or Billings and you're interested in the 99. Don't let Joanie push you around.

Well that's good news to hear. Problem is, I still have to finish my last year of college first, and I hope the hiring is still going strong say about next April to June. All of the above times are estimates of what I will have around May or June next year. I'm right at 1000 now with about 85ME including about 10 in a King Air.

Not so fast. Salt Lake City is not "that" base anymore. It is relatively filled there. Upgrades are still happening relatively fast though.

You go right into a 99 if you are willing to take an outstation or certain bases. The thing that you have to understand is that these outstations and bases are open for a reason. Either the runs are two short to build any quality time or the place where you're living would suck (we're talking towns of 2000 people hundreds of miles from any real civilization...Entertainment? Forget about it type of places!)

yes and no
jI see your from WA just try and get BFI and PDX

BIL is a great base nothing sucks about it

Also you might want to see if BFI still needs pilots they were short some time ago, and you might get dual qualified

I'm also trying to get on with them in BFI or PDX, just sent in the app today. I'm right at 25 multi but I've got the ATP, so we'll see what happens.

Yeah just call 1-800-800-4JET and ask for Joanie in pilot recruiting. Tell her you applied online and that you're just following it up to make sure she got it and ask if there's any chance you could schedule an interview?

....and if you don't hear from her keep calling.

I talked to a lady named Sylvia several times in the last couple of weeks, she said can't get me into SLC because it is bid only, but I could try for a couple of short 99 runs that no one else wants. I'm just not sure it is worth it for only an hour a day flight time. Regionals seem to have a much better deal then that.

Thanks jtrain609. I sent you a pm about this a couple of weeks ago, but figured you were not dealing with AMF anymore when i didn't get a response.

I TDY'd to BFI on tomorrow. I'll let you know if they are one man down or if someone is just taking a week off.

Your dealing with BUR just keep bugging them things get lost or misplaced in the mass exodus of people leaving there. They do still hire street CA into SLC

I’m just very apprehensive about getting seat locked for 6 months into an outstation logging only an hour a day. They don't seem like they are willing to budge any. I guess that I could tell them SLC or nothing. So why is there a mass exodus, are things that bad?

A lot of people retiring seems like my last month in BUR there were several key people retiring than HR had some turnover and lost all of my paper work with some personal issues that I needed to attend to. Good thing I copied all my paper work to CYA.

There is nothing wrong with starting in the chieftain I did it and commuted to Utah just don't go to OAK if you do

Naw man I think I've still got a few ideas of what's going on, though I'm not at Amflight anymore (kind of, long story). Send me another PM, I probably missed it and deleted it on accident!
