Why I Left an Airline Pilot Career

Sounds like a few people need to get laid, who cares how much money one person has over another. When you’re dead you don’t take it with you, so enjoy the money or enjoy saving it. Stop measuring that as your true success in life because the day death comes knocking, you’ll be disappointed.
I never got that either, at some point it becomes almost sociopathic. The only reason I like to see a bunch of money is mostly having a comfortable lifestyle and some security if things went Tango Uniform. I'll never get the Bezos type of "I have billions, I need more!" At a certain point I'd seriously just have enough to have a decent lifestyle and quit my job and have fun til I died.

Oh good we can debate about how money buys happiness again.

(spoiler alert: it totally does)

Lots of science behind this. Short version: there are two things to measure. One is "happiness," the other is "satisfaction with life." Once you hit somewhere around $75k, the happiness line levels off. But the satisfaction line keeps on climbing with increased income.

We talking savings here or annual income?

That number can vary wildly on location though, right?

I don't disagree with any of that. At all.

Well this thread got weird.

Also does a pretty good job answering the question “why I left an airline pilot career”.
