What A320 pilot only makes $44/HR?
I just had to buy an oil tank drain valve for a Caravan. $1300. This is why flying is expensive.
*raises hand*What A320 pilot only makes $44/HR?
But the flying public still expects 5 star concierge service.I reject the premise that flying is expensive. Today's fares are nothing like they were 40 years ago. It should be expensive. But it's not.

Noticed that, too. Oops. Ran out of stock footage. ;-)I guess that's an A320 300?

I've got a coach fare ticket receipt from a trip I took with my mother in 1976.
$228 per person, purchased 34 days out, for a coach ticket on Eastern, Florida to New York.
Plug that into your inflation calculator....

That much? Spirit is only $91.$954
LGA-TPA, purchased today, for travel 34 days from now...
United: $239
American $239
Delta $253
As I say, air travel isn't expensive. It should be.
Here's an even better example. Needed an alternator control unit for a Caravan today. From Lamar (manufacturer) or one of their dealers, $450 (which is already highway robbery for something that probably has $30 worth of parts in it). From Cessna or any Cessna dealer: $4500 new or $2900 overhaul exchange. Stupid.Well, indirectly anyways. $76 for the part and $1224 for the attorneys.
