Just an update:
I did make it into the Sept. 13th class. It looks like its a class of mostly jets and a few turboprops (4 of which are SJU ATR's). They do seniority in a class by birthday, so there's a decent chance that I will be going to SJU and flying the ATR for awhile since that is the most junior AC/base and I'll be towards the bottom of the class seniority list. I will probably try for the Saab out of LGA (there's 5 Saab slots) anyways, since that will likely be my best chance at staying out of SJU (simply because I want to live in the northeast...don't care whether I fly a jet or tp). If I do get San Juan, that'll be cool too- they fly lots of neat places that I've never been. I'm psyched just to finally have a decent job.

I think he's saying they are all hired on the same day. I just interviewed at Mesaba for a ramp position and for everyone hired on the same day, you would still have the same senority date, but when it comes to bidding, and setting some order, they would then go from the oldest to the youngest and set the order that way. Good for me as I was probably one of the older individuals that I saw at the informational meeting. Does that help? Now I find myself wondering if I got that all right. Anyway, well see.

Yep, JEP is right.
There will be 30 of us in my class. In order to determine who gets what in the class, they use everyones birthdate. Its only used for seniority within the class.
