Who is stuck out of town on Christmas???

I remember being on an overnight in Scranton for X Mas. The place was a ghost town. Captain and I ventured out to find food. The Chinese place was closed. We stumbled on a pizza place that was open, offering free food to the homeless. They insisted we came in to have some food. That night the hotel bar opened up with 1/2 price drinks. Sometimes it actually works out ok.

This will be my third Christmas in arrow where I'm not home. Spent all 3 of the holidays last year in Smyrna,TN.

Cracker Barrel was packed.

For the first time in a long time, I will be at home. Good riddance XOJET. Poor new guys will never see a holiday due to the selfishness of the "senior captains".

"Senior Captain" - it is what you call yourself when you don't have enough talent to get another job and you will never get a raise.
Work or worked for xojet? I heard they took over the intel shuttle? Just curious...

2nd Christmas home since 2003 (assuming I make the jumpseat on the 24th). Currently sat in a hotel waiting for my LPC this evening after doing a sim 'til 4am last night. I went 8 in a row away in the Navy.

I am the weirdo who loves Christmas Music, santa hats &c as it's the only way getting into the spirit. Saddest thing I've ever seen is 14 men in paper hats voluntarily watching Love Actually on Christmas day "somewhere in the Indian Ocean" and pretending it was a normal thing to do...

In my day, when I signed up for 'The Facebook', you needed a .edu email address to sign up with, there were only about a dozen or so universities in the Northeast that were allowed to join, and the primary purpose was to meet chicks/guys to 'hook up' with.

Now, when I look at my Facebook feed, and I see posts from baby boomers in a rage about the way those Duck folk are being treated, or the 'war' on Christmas, or gay marriage, I wonder if their moral compass needs to look on what the original purpose of Facebook was. Betchya they would be surprised and repulsed at the same time!
I remember the .edu days. It was a big deal when they let us in, bigger than getting our WASC Accreditation to most people.

Christmas way back "in the day" me and the captain could only find gas station hot dogs and 40 ouncers so, well, we sat in the hotel lobby drinking fowties and eating hot dogs, just like some of us at the @jtrain609 wedding.

("are THOSE the new couples airline pilot friends?!")

DH just got the dreaded reserve call for a three day beginning tomorrow. He'll be spending Tuesday night in DTW and, if weather is good after 3 legs on Wednesday, home at 1AM on Thursday.

"Hey guys, I've got Jäger! Who wants to do shots!"

Surprisingly, Dave never made it to the reception.

Tell him the fish tacos at the restaurant in the hotel are great in DTW. If I don't get called out I'm going to have that for my Christmas Eve dinner.

I'm on the road until Friday so I'm working the xmas rush. Currently down in FL, don't know what town I'll be in for xmas yet.
