Which Regional?

The Most Depressing Person
So I recently received offers from both TSA and CommutAir and I am debating which one to go with. I'm leaning toward CommutAir since several people recommended them to me when I recently asked for advice.
However, it seems there are some advantages with TSA as well.

-Pay seems to be about the same for both.
-CommutAir will be expanding quite a bit over the next few years, assuming everything goes according to plan, so that's a plus for them. TSA is mostly done with their expansion.
-TSA has more options for bases, and both of C5s bases are in very expensive cities, which seems like a point for TSA. On that note, I live in Wisconsin right now. However I don't really have anything keeping me in Wisconsin and will probably just move to wherever I end up based, so bases aren't necessarily a huge issue for me.
-C5s Career Path Program with United seems like a point for them, although it seems it's generally agreed that such programs are more recruiting tools than anything. Still, it could be good in my case since with my checkered past (which I have mentioned before, I was in an accident a few years ago and recently washed out at a different regional), which will surely make it harder for me than most to ever make it to a major.

I know several people on here have spoken highly of C5, which is a big reason I'm leaning toward them. I don't really know anyone at TSA. Anyone ever worked for either of these companies, and have any input? Thank you very much in advance. And sorry to start another one of these "which airline" threads.

Isn't the United path merely a guaranteed interview if you meet all other requirements/clean record everyone has to have for an interview anyway? I'd almost say maybe, in your case, despite my usual inclination is to talk to Piedmont or Envoy or the other AAG WO. Seems like that is the flow your looking for.

Otherwise, if your going to move anyway, look for the best work rules, environment, pay, growth, and where you can sit tight for a while if you have to, and go there.

I'm just a PPL-IR but my regional friends speak very good things of C5. I do not know anyone at TSA so can't really comment on that.

I've decided to go with CommutAir over Piedmont. I too have an incident which I was involved in as a CFI (thankfully no injuries or damages to the airplane but I did have to go through 709). Many have recommended CommutAir to me because of short commute in my case, good training dept. and quick upgrades. I am starting class Nov. 30th and CTP course Oct. 31st in Orlando.

I can't complain much about TSA. I enjoy working here and live in base, so good qol for me. Only downside that Lufthansa sucks.

Go with C5 !!!! By far the best interviewed experience. C5 really gives a damn about their crews and love great personalities. Top notch pilot group. Good training dept, if u put forth the effort they will also to get you through. Mostly all jets being offered now not Dash.

I decided on Envoy weeks ago, their bases are much closer to commute with. I enjoy living in my state & city. AA has a base in my city. Flow is a great tool to have in the back pocket as I'm career focused and look forward the best shot at majors, and AA will have the most age 65 retirees. So Envoy was the best choice for me. My decision has literally paid-off with the new bonuses & pay increase. Also increased were AA flow plans in 2017 to 40/month out of Envoy. So that should help with FO-->Captain upgrade time. That announcement last Wed as a game changer for the industry! C5 will benefit from that also. As they need huge recruiting numbers to fill those new jet/double crew size in less than 2 yrs. UAL will have to compete! The pilot pool is limited. ATP flightschool and universities, and other domestic mom & pop schools can't train pilots fast enough to fill the pipeline. Not to mention there will be simulator & training back log (PSA for example). UAL will have to open the purse, or change into a no-interview flow to allow their baby project C-5 to compete.

Go with C5 apply with United, take the Hogan, accept the UAL interview. 5yrs down the road UAL could do away with the interview and announce a flow. Ya never know. Stay hopeful, dnt cut yourself short of being deserving and achieving your dream @Yakob

CommutAir is the way to go. I talked to a pilot there and he was extremely complimentary of their training and how they treated him. He also commutes from Florida with little to no difficulty and he's first year.

Republic might also be a good option. That said if you're in Wisconsin have you looked at flying 99's for 135 freight or caravan's for CSA? I think it's freight runners that has the big 135 freight operation in Wisconsin.

Thanks to everyone who responded. It definitely looks like the consensus is C5, and I was leaning toward them anyway largely because several people recommended them to me previously. So I think I will go with them.

Not necessarily looking for a flow, though I agree it may be my only hope of making it to a major, mainly I'm looking for any decent job. I haven't been able to get a call from any of the AAG WOs.

Colgan Air. Quick upgrades.

I disagree, Comair pays better and Wings West's upgrade time will probably drop soon.

Glad to see you've bounced back!

Why thank you!

Pretty much everything I've heard about C5 has been good. Republic wasn't willing to interview me under the circumstances. Freight Runners is the big 135 freight operation in MKE. I thought of going there, in fact it might be a better idea under the circumstances.

If you're still interested in the WOs but haven't received a call, PM me. I'll see what I can do for you.
