Probably true, but I wouldn't blame the greatest turboprop engine ever built on it.

In all seriousness though, even though the 331 get's a lot of crap in general and the mits in particular it's not hard to move off the ramp within 60 seconds of engine start or spend the three minute cool-down period on a taxi-way or a ramp quasi-distant from the FBO. Taxi slow if needed. Every once in a while that doesn't work and it does suck but I can count those instances on one hand over 400 hours in the past 2 years. I carry ear plugs for any ramp personnel I see without hearing protection and have handed them out the little door before engine start if I see my marshaller doesn't have anything. It's not hard to be considerate, it just takes some thinking.

But I agree, ramp noise abatement should be part of initial and recurrent training. Those things are not people friendly in the least.
