That's not a good way to way to carry a PA28, on a flatbed with all the weight on the nose and maaaybe a tail skid as it goes bouncing down the road, right?

Indeed! Not to mention the wings sticking out into oncoming traffic. Still, @EIR called it definitively. LOL.

Sounds like a story from The Onion.
There is no Onion really. 'Matter of fact, it's ALL Onion. Comedy is redundant these days. No need to pay for a ticket. Just walk outside, listen and watch.

That graph is confusing, normally I'd expect a huge increase in airspeed as the altitude drops and it does a couple of times but I'm guessing he must've been in a descending turn and bleeding off speed.
Spins are low-KIAS events concomitant with precipitous altitude losses.

That can’t be real.
The idea of "real" is being severely tested these days, especially in places like Missouri.

Not long ago, not far from this accident's coordinates, some 121 heroes core-locked and fatally crashed a regional jet.

I blame Missouri. ;)

Negative ghost rider. Spins are high-AOA events, not always airspeed dependent.

I see what you did there: nice spin of a comment!

You going for the Microsoft Tech support reply there - technically correct but utterly useless??

Holy Jeebus, really?? First folks ragging on me for going too deep. Now you're going to go after me for a concise, relevant answer?!? Can't win, I suppose.

My point was simply to posit a very probable possible answer to the question which was, you'll recall, "how could he lose altitude so quickly without picking up speed?"

My point was not meant to be a comprehensive exegesis on the aerodynamics of spins. (But if you'd like that, I'm your Huckleberry.)

Pretty sure this guy wasn't doing intentional snap rolls, ace. Pretty sure he was a normal, garden variety pilot who done the pooch in the normal, garden variety fashion.

If you have a better answer to the relevant question, I'd love to hear it. If you'd rather spin your replies, at least recover on heading.
