Which job would you choose?….

I have applications in for Compass, Southwest, Allegiant and SkyWest. If you were offered from those 3, which one would you choose and which airline has the most longevity?

Southwest without a doubt for me. In actuality, I would choose whoever made me a job offer. :) If you get more than one job offer count yourself as lucky. I think Southwest has the most longevity also, followed perhaps by Allegiant. The other two regionals are too dependent upon major airline whims to really guarantee their future - Skywest is big enough they will probably be OK no matter what happens, but people used to say the same thing about Comair and they no longer exist. At any rate, Southwest has the best pay scale by far of any of the ones you listed, and when you're planning for your future (and saving for your own retirement as none of these airlines have traditional pensions) that is very important to remember also.

Southwest by a long shot. I highly doubt anyone on this board would disagree given those specific options.

Realistically you're probably looking at a choice between Skywest and Compass.

The decision will be a bit more money and St. George.... Or a bit less money and Minneapolis.

I'd take Minneapolis.

Is this thread a joke? I am not trying to be mean but if Southwest offers you a dispatch job the only way you turn that job down is if you have other majors that are offering you a job. You would be a complete moron if you turned Southwest down to go work for the regionals or LCCs.

That being said, not many people get hired by Southwest off the street without experience. So take the first offer you get from Allegiant, SkyWest Compass. All three are great places to gain experience before moving on to the majors.

I know I'm just a dumb pilot, but I see 4 options there.

Was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that...

Math is hard.

Anyway, in order I would say Southwest, Allegiant, SkyWest and then anyone else. Again though, Southwest in that list is in a league by itself.

Don't be so sure you don't stand a chance with less then 3 years experience. Put that app in! You never know! We are hiring a metric crap-ton of dispatchers this year.

the only thing i would mention about allegiant is to follow whats happening with their pilot union voting to strike. if the national mediation board releases the union from mediated negotiations you could find yourself having just moved down there and then the pilots go on strike

Rocks are hard, math is difficult. Im sure Young Austin is very good at adding fuel and alternates and stuff together. 53 + IAD = lunchtime...Is that 3?
Help be God.

By the by...You do know that Mickey D's and Burger Sling are now at $15/hour!!! I think that puts you at exactly 6 options now.
