From what I've heard, it is really good and expensive. In my opinion, if you want a GPS just buy a cheap one that points you in the right direction.

I've flown a many a mile by a Garmin 295 (ie. across the country once and across half the country twice). If you are just flying VFR in a VFR only airplane, thats about all you'll need.

I fly with my AnywhereMap just about every time I go up. I've tried the Garmin 395 but the Anywhere Map is better IMHO.

My 152, N67487 at Air America (KDAB), has a stereo input for the intercom so the Pocket PC doubles as am MP3 player for XC trips.

The Taxi diagrams are great when at an unfamiliar airport. You can see right where you are on the field. Really nice when calling ground somewhere you've never been and you can't see any taxiway signs.

There's an option for XM weather but I haven't gotten it. yet...

I use AnyWhereMap on their Dell Axim 51V platform. I have the weather and pocket plates subscriptions as well. For the most part, it works very well. I primarily use it to augment the weather detection equipment I have in my Seneca II (just a WX-500 Storm Scope). I usually don't use the GPS function unless I am bored and there is no turbulence. The biggest problem with the PDA version is that you need to use a stylus to make entries. Try doing that in light to moderate turbulence!

You can't beat it for the price. Especially since you can take the PDA into the FBO, connect to their wireless network, file a flight plan, get a weather briefing, and then check your email. The Garmin products are excellent for two things: GPS Nav and Weather. While the AnyWhereMap PDA version is not as user friendly as the Garmin products, it is cheaper and has MANY more functions.

Sorry if I have posted my thread in the wrong forum. Won't happen again! :)
Thanks everybody for the input on anywheremap. Especially, the last two posts (StogieC and MichaelCPS) for providing more specifics on the system.
Your time is sincerely appreciated.

I have the Garmin GPS map 96c. I like it because its small enough to use hiking and such, but still has the aviation mode (charts, airspaces, airport info). The screen is small so you dont have much temptation to be overly reliant on it, but still gives you a load on information at a glance.

I have anywheremapXM also, and really like it. It is running on a iPaq4700, as that was what they were selling when I got it. It was actually cheaper back then to get the PDA from them as well. I also run the same software on my 10.4" tablet, but agree trying to make entries while in flight is fun!

I have thought about upgrading to XM in the Cirrus, but can't justify the cost when I have it on the PDA.

Thanks again for the last three inputs. It definitely helped me make my decision.
I appreciate everybody's help.
Regards to you all
