As a consequence of the thread I just posted in the CFI forum, I'm looking for a cylinder and piston for a narrow-deck O-320. No suffix, just an O-320. We would prefer an overhauled or used serviceable one, the engine has over 2300 hours so it's just not worth the money I think to throw a brand new one on there. I've had people say both Gibson Aviation and Harrison Engines might be good options. Any other ideas?

I'll second Gibson...

I've flown behind many. many cylinders overhauled by Gibson, both with my personal airplane and those I flew at work.

They have a good product and seem to stand behind it as well (in my experience).

FYI... when I had my O-235 topped a couple of years ago, I put Gibson overhauled cylinders on the airplane, even though I could have gotten them slightly cheaper somewhere else.

Thanks. I'll give 'em a call tomorrow and see if they've got anything in stock.

Seems like it was ECI I heard a lot about a while back. You might want to check them out.

Not a fan of Harrison in IN
...when I overhaul and engine... I usually install brand new cylinders and don't worry about their longevity or quality of re-work.
