Where are you now?

Hey Neil, I don’t think XJT is the AB of the west Although many AB people have gone to XJT at least when I look at my paperwork I see MELs: none. Much different from the INOP sticky notes I used to see.

True, but remember you're flying those handpicked 69-mostly XR's with the 'new car smell'. The rest of us shlubs on the COEX side are stuck with the ER's and 135's... ...with the 'old-crusty chewing tobacco smell'!

please, IAH doesnt get much of them. At least when I was there I only ever flew the Lrs or Xrs. The landing is much easier and sweeter in the 135 though. :) The Ers are the ones I have a problem with. 3yr upgrade anyone. :) That is my guess now at XJT.

Agree,

I do believe the average fleet age on Branded side is about 2004-2005 range. (Can’t live without the dual FMSs) Now if we can only work out the bugs on the XM radio it would great. I did however fly the 135 for a few days during IOE and loved flying it. We don’t have the chewing tobacco smell but I did find a two week old J.R. meatball sandwich behind the rudder pedals one day. Damn U-FOs!

Age 65 just passed the senate with no chance of being vetoed by Bush, so good luck with that 3yr upgrade :(

Well, I WAS hoping of bidding ER captain next year, but I guess it'll be 6 now.

actually the President already signed it into law. age 65 is now a reality as of yesterday.

On Thursday, December 13, 2007, the President signed into law:

H.R. 4343, the "Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act," which raises the mandatory retirement age from 60 years to 65 years for pilots serving on commercial passenger flights within the United States.

I left the aviator a couple months back, now I am swimming, or perhaps drowning, in the XJT pool. I was really excited about finally recieving word of a Feb class date... but ah well, what can you do now I just have to occupy myself for 4 months. I wonder how many from the pool will "move on".

Age 65 will affect all of us differently, but one thing is for sure- it just changed the whole industry dynamics.

This is the first time I looked at jetcareers website after leaving the school. How are you doing James? Thanks for all the help at ari-ben. After the long drive back to Socal I was hired as an FO on a Jetstar II and an HS-125. The company sold the Hawker and got a Falcon 20 and a lear 25. I am the only FO at the company and have 3 SIC types. I only fly private owners and spend most of the time flying in Mexico. I was told this month I will upgrade in Jan. 08 on the falcon, hawker and jetstar. I'm sure it wont take as long as my MEI did. All can be confirmed by Paul, we live within an hour drive and have had many BBQ's at my house. Whats up Paul? FLY SAFE ALL!!!!

Well, I left the aviator like a year ago, with about 500TT. Got hired straight on a nice, shiny B738, flying now all around Europe.
Hope everyone is doing pretty well, just missing the old times.

Peter (the german guy)

After leaving the Aviator, I went to 'Aviator North' (aka Colgan). Slugging it out in the soup (unlike you pansy jet boys) in the left seat.....based in Syracuse. :laff:

Trying to get my time and get out.....age 65 aside.

All of this is true. Next month Sandog will have "too many type ratings to fit on one license". Plus he is a master instructor of a dozen or so G.A. aircraft, but I think he is just flying jets right now. Hey still have the “MEI Time Frame” picture you took in the bathroom?

How are we supposed to eat our Caviar and sip our Seltzer Water (with pinky out -of course) when we're down there in all that junk??!! ;)

Ah yes, that's a good point. I guess you wouldn't be able to get that done. Well then, enjoy the FL's and the wonderful world of automation. :D

P.S. I hear the seltzer is works wonders in getting the caviar stains out of your white shirt when you hit the 'occasional light chop' and need your ride reports. :p
