When it's time to move on...?

That's cool, @JMK but we always flow from days of irrational exuberance to recession then back to irrational exuberance.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah, but so is the restricted radio telephone license, but gotta get it in many cases. :)

Love it or hate it, but when the recruiter asks about it at a job fair and a person launches into a soliloquy about the utility of a degree, they're probably just going to say. "Ahh, ok. Next!"
Well, that's precisely the problem. Save for the checked box on the application, most recruiters wouldn't know the difference between a degree and a post hole. Intelligence and curiosity are not conferred by degrees, nor do most degrees enhance these traits. Trust and culture are not created by checking boxes. If your trying to fill open positions in the most expedient fashion, fine, check your boxes (although that's still not very efficient). If you want to create a cohesive, high-performance, sustainably competitive organization, you're going to have to take some time, act like a human being, discern and choose the best people.
