I recieved my private pilots license about 4 weeks ago, just curious i know that it should take a little bit to get it, But is there anyway to judge on how soon I should get it. I check the FAA Airman registry to see if my status has changed. is that a good way to find out if my license is in the mail? alright thanks much.

So I have a question since I've only had one checkride and hopefully will have another one upcoming. I am planning on getting several ratings in the span of a few months.... so how does the certificate issuing work for that?

You turn in your temporary certificates every time you take a ride. Depending on the FAA, you may be issued a couple permanent certificates due to the time between checkrides, but I doubt it. I did my instrument, commercial single and commercial Multi-instrument in two weeks and was still only issued one permanent certificate.

I got mine 2 days before the temp. expired and everyone else I know was that way too....they like to wait until the last minute and make you sweat for some reason.

My PPL checkride was September 30th. I checked the Airmen Inquiry Site every few days and I noticed they had updated my entry when I checked on November 29th. My certificate (the green card) arrived in the mail last week.

Just a little over 2 months, not bad!

My checkride was August 22nd. Had the little card in my hand on November 5th or 6th I believe. My DPE told me to complain if it didn't come within 100days of your checkride.

I took my PPL in the tail end of October and passed. This site still lists me as a student pilot. When should I rattle the chains if the site isn't updated, or if at all?

Just give it a while - the FAA really takes a while to get things processed. Plus I doubt they update that site every day although I don't know what the time frame is.

Don't be concerened about it until you're reaching about 100 days or so - if you don't have it 2 weeks before your temp expires you might start asking question but don't sweat until then.

If you haven't received it within 100 days contact your DPE. They will shake the sugar tree in Oke City to get your permanent on the way and can re-issue your temporary if necessary. A DPE friend of mine always tells his applicants to mark their calendars.

Yeah good point - if you want to make inquires start with your DE. If you've never tried to "rattle the FAA chains" it's sorta' like this ====>
