What's the best CatIIIc you have seen on YT?

This could very well earn me an Ian J "Debbie Downer" award but so be it. I think the "RVR<150" at the start of the video is total BS. You can see the end of the runway while they are still no more than halfway down the row of the approach lights. While the ceiling looks quite low, I bet the RVR is 300-800. It just doesn't look bad at all. Can someone from Horizon answer: is hand-flying with the HUD legal down to RVR100?

The Air Canada cockpit video in the first post and ILSstud's video from the back in ZRH are great!

Geez...thanks Debbie Downer....

I could be wrong but I think this is a IIIB approach which usually has a 50ft Alert Height. Before retiring, I was able to shoot 3 IIIBs and yes, you hit 50ft and there is just about nothing.

You can hear the crew making calls such as 'land 3' which means all three autopilots are working and all systems are up. The big thing about a IIIB or anything Cat II or worse is trying to taxi to the gate. That is the real task because to shoot a IIIB the airplane, crew have to be certified, winds have to be relatively benign (10kt cross max).

Of course, seat position is VERY important when doing Cat IIs and IIIs. Most guys will run the seat all the way up to improve the view over the nose. In the sim, you can set the airplane at various heights and begin with something like a VOR with 400 and 2 and then work down to a IIIB. Then start backing up and when you get back to Cat I (200 1/2) it looks like it is VFR.

The applause at the end of the video was well deserved...we did hold for a little bit beforehand and it was rather gusty too. I gave a little thank you to the captain and first officer at the door, seems like they really appreciated it :D
