Somebody was telling me a story the other day (a retired 747 captain) about how when the 747 was being developed and test flown that the Boeing test pilot ripped the approach lights out by flying the aircraft on the glideslope. It turns out they had the glideslope antenna mounted much too high causing the wheels to be well below where they should beon approach .....
Is it true or not? Who knows...but it made for a good story. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
