What would be a perfect CFI job?

Noooo....at my University, the CFIs get paid hockeydoodle...not sure about others though. Well, I know that ERAU CFIs get hockeydoodle, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'd say to find a good local FBO that will let you work as a contractor and has good equipment. I work at a school like that, and we have no shortage of students. We are one of the more expensive flight schools in the area, but we like to think that our equipment is alot nicer than everybody else's. And not everything we have is $980 per hour!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you find a school like that, you'll have alot of opportunities. We have a couple of older gentlemen working at my school, and they do well. Alot of customers like to fly with someone older (it's funny - I had a customer refuse to fly with me the other day.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

You'll also have the chance to be more flexible at one of these schools (you see me - I'm going to work in an hour - I don't do 8:00 anything if I can help it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif).
