What were you doing in September 2003?

I think I'd joined by then.

I don't think I'd flown yet... Nope... Logbook shows first flight was January 2004.

I was a senior at WVU working part time as an IT tech in a hospital, part time as an event supervisor for the school and taking 18 credit hours.

Let's see, in 09/2003 I was still an FO at CALEX (they had just renamed it to XJT but no one liked it) and I was getting constantly yelled at in the IAH crew room because I was the local FO Rep. Also, I had just escaped the hell hole that is Houston, TX and moved back to Birmingham.

I had not yet heard of JC. I was too busy putting out fires on calforums.com.

I wasn't on JC yet.

I wasn't a pilot, but wanted to be. I did take two Young Eagle flights by then though.

I was a Junior in high school and working as a cashier/courtesy desk at a grocery store.

I'm a moron... for some reason I thought this was a "what where you doing on September 11th thread"... so my answer was a few years off.

I was a freshman in high school.

Been flying with my dad forever, and when we flew I did everything except land, waiting for 2 more years till I turned 16.(my private pilot dad was scared to teach landings)

Never heard of JC, so I wasn't on.

Negative on the JC
CFI
Running a car dealership and trying to stay current while wife was trying to get preggers. The preggers worked the currency not so much.

That is the month I started to learn how to fly. I was living in Hawaii and working for the Navy (just like now, even if only for the month :)).

1- Yes was on here, only by a few months but lurked for quite a while. It was kind of a cheesy sight when I first found it. Pic of Doug in front of his hondo if I remember correctly.
2- Commerical, maybe multi at that point
3- College, still wanted to be an airline pilot oh how time wises one up.

Dating, not married and hadn't started any of my businesses. Last 7 years have treated me really well!

I was a cfi/ramp rat awaiting class at my current job.

I am working on my perspectives article (finally) and am trying to figure out where everyone was when I joined JC 9/11/03.

I think Matt was a flight instructor...or Chicago Express?
I know BobD was either attending flight school, or was about to.
Pavelump was a flight instructor
Omar was just getting hired or about to be hired at OO
Doug was a fo at DAL on the Mad Dog flying domestically
CaptainBob was at flight school in JAX
MJG was in the NAV
MikeD was flying an A10 in Iraq
EDawg was a flight instructor (I think)

Were you here at JC?
Were you a pilot?
What was your job?

In sept. 2003....

I was flying the Seneca every chance I got in preparation of my Multi-Engine-Instrument-Commercial checkride, which I took and passed on 9/16/03 thanks to some great instruction from my MEI Phil.

I was working at everybody's favorite FBO, Signature (in AUS) as a line service tech aka lav dumper, and overall just nerding out on aviation to the maximum extent possible.

I was also reading jetcareers every chance I got, seeking to follow the path of enlightenment blazed by the taylors and MikeD :)

I was not on JC.
I was not a pilot .
And I had just finished a hard summer of hand digging fire lines, and was beginning my last semester of college....wow, it feels like a lifetime ago.

Was finishing up my Commercial SEL in Glendale, Az. Working as a Sergeant for the Glendale Police Department and happily married.. Oh how time changes things....

And had been on JC for about a year and a few months.

I was in Shoalwater Bay, Queensland, Australia at Operation Crocodile/Freedom. Freakin best 1 1/2 months of my USMC career was spent in Queensland.

No JC
Still not a pilot, but
USMC as an ATC, now work for the FAA
