Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Initial CFI, also CFI single engine for me. Not even close to any other rating or certificate, even PPL.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

I'm working on my MEI initial right now, and I have to say it is the toughest by far.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Well my MEI was my initial so that was definitely the hardest. Did not get many good nights of sleep for a few weeks leading up to that one.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Initial CFI, which was CFII for me...but I still put CFI.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Initial CFI, which was the Airplane-Single-Engine one.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Instrument rating in a multi for me. But maybe that will change to CFI when I get there.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

Where's the selection for Mechanic Airframe & Powerplant?

You can't earn that overnight through some weekend ground school or just by practicing the manuevers for a few weeks either! My flight oral and practicals have been a few hours each. The oral and practical was two days long! That by far was the hardest I have earned so far.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

It's the first CFI that you go for out of the MEI, CFI, and CFII. Its usually the hardest and then the other two are addon's. If I am wrong please correct me.:)

Correct. Also, the initial CFI has to be done with the FSDO, unless they let you use a DPE.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

I did MEI for my initial, and it was difficult, as far long and detailed (8 hrs) but the hardest was my Instrument Rating, because single pilot IFR (did it in the multi at ATP) at low time in a complex multi was just that... difficult

Private was the most intimidating though, because I had no idea what to expect.

:yeahthat:
I would agree that my A&P was my most difficult certificate. As far as pilot certificate goes I would probably say my instrument rating was the most difficult. It seemed to be the one that left me the most brain dead after a flight. I probably spent more time working on my CFI, but that was because I took the groundschool as a college class. CFI did take more work, but I don't think the flying was as difficult to learn the stuff as the IFR stuff was.

Re: What was the most difficult license/certificate/rating y

I would have to say that my CFI was one of the longer rides, but not all that hard. After eight hours with the examiner, my brain was fried, but I felt well prepared. The IR was the hardest I think. After that, it was nothing but study study study for the CFI. And all the knowledge of the CFI goes right into the Comm. I ended up taking my CFI rides within weeks of my Comm. ratings.

The Comm ratings were by far the eaisest.

Initial CFI.
Oddly enough it wasn't my bust.
Most difficult and most prepared.
