Tom Cruise has specifically come out saying that he will only do this movie, if it has the full cooperation of the Navy. And No CGI planes.

There's just nothing sexy about a vertical assist takeoff. Even the deckhand looked bored.

I suspect the reasoning behind the F35 casting. Still, disappointed.

An F-18E would have REALLY looked way more badass, though. Shame.
