It is not a pilot position, but an interview for an intern position (flight ops)
Should a suit be ok? or is that overdressing.....

I rather be overdressed than underdressed, but I wouldn't wanna look I am overdressed either

I'm sure this is alot more of a casual interview compared to getting hired as a pilot but...

Not that i have any experience with Spirit Airlines, I can say that a suit is pretty much always worn for airline interviews, regardless of what type of position applied for. The suit will reflect you in a professional light, which is what the airline is looking for.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck!

Yeah, I figured a suit would be good, I don't see it as overdress, but I don't know... anything less (even a shirt and tie) does not seem enough.

Also, my internship resume is pretty darn empty... I put 'certfications' and put in private Pilot cert. and Currently enrolled in Instrument rating to add something there, probably not relevant in field of flight ops but...

also, should I put previous employers that have nothing to do with the job? such as 'Florida Atlantic University Police dept' lol

Unless you're interviewing for a retail position, you need to be in a coat and tie. In some retail positions, you need to be dressed in that as well.

You will never get any problems if you're overdressed. You can always take off a tie if everyone else doesn't have one.

If you don't have a tie with you, you can't put it on.

I've heard that its "tradition" to wear a red tie to an airline interview... anyone else hear that?

Wear whatever tie you want to, just as long as it looks good with whatever else you've got on.

All this crap of never wear a blah blah blah shirt or a blah blah blah suit or a blah blah blah tie to an interview is just that, crap.

It's a suit. And if you look good in it, mission accomplished.

Then you can move on to the important part -- selling yourself as the best employee for the open position.

I interviewed for the Southwest Airlines Flight Operations internship for this semester (and got it), and can tell you that we were all in a suit and tie for our interviews. If Southwest, which is known industry-wide for its casual dress policy, has intern applicants wearing suits for their interviews, I would recommend that you wear one for your. Hope this helps!

I agree.....can't go wrong with a suit. Better to be the best dressed person in the interview....than the worst. ;)

Can never go wrong with this. And the best part is that when you get the job you're ready to head out to the bar and pick up chicks.

man camel toe ftl.

I will do black suit with light grey shirt and dark grey tie.

or light grey suit and light grey shirt and dark grey tie. I'll probably end up with the black one because that is like standard heh

Know what would be an interesting thing for someone who has a secure job to do? Get an interview somewhere and show up dressed like that. I just wonder whether they would kick you out or go "uhh....ok". I could almost see somewhere like Southwest going along with it. Almost...

When did you work for them? I put in an application with them a few months into my freshman year but never heard from them. Getting a ticket for parking in a faculty spot a week after applying probably didn't help.:D
