What to pack?

Same as above, just add small bottle of detergent for washing underpants in hotel sink. :p

Actually, I can pack for two weeks in my old crew bag. That's with clean underwear & socks for everyday. I just wear the clothes a couple times, but you'd be amazed the volume of clothes you can fit when you pack well.
Amber is not far off. When I went to Berlin for sim training (2 weeks) I could only bring one carry-on and a flight bag. I had underwear and socks hanging from the shower line every day.

I couldn't buy more clothes there unless I wanted to leave them either, because I wanted to be ready to make a quick exit if anything happened, and international jump seating with checked luggage is a real risk.

As it was, I finished a day early and jumpseated home on Delta.

For a three day trip, you don't need much. Most important things are toothpaste and deodorant! Amazes me how many new hires don't seem to use that stuff ...

The J-Hooks that attach to rollerbags are awsome and I know what you mean about the one finger operation. Sadly, a few months ago, my travelpro was in the bin of an airplane and the J-hook was lost. I bought a new J-Hook at the crew store in MSP a few weeks ago and guess what...the clip that it hooks into on my bag broke! :( Im gonna be roughing it a little bit more.

taildragger, I know about the "lost Travelpro hook" syndrome, and I think a lot of them are less 'lost' than they are 'found', if you take my meaning. Those things can carry a ton, they don't just 'fall out'. Did you loose it going through EWR perhaps? I hear tell there's a brisk underground trade; so many FA's use Travelpro and so many loose those darn hooks that some of the ground personnel are selling them for $5 a pop. You could buy one from them, yeah, but then you'd be supporting the industry that may have stolen it in the first place.

Try to get the word out about it. If people quit buying them, and more light gets shined, peoples stuff may stop being stolen. Meantime, keep your TravelPro hook stowed someplace safe.

Oh I will keep my j-hook safely stowed next time my bag is thrown in a bin. The problem is that right now I need to replace the thing that the hook clips into on it. Maybe I should just upgrade to a PNS bag. Those things are built like tanks. Little pricey though and my travelpro is only a year old. My old travel pro lasted for 4 years and it was the handle that broke.

I didnt loose the hook in EWR but rather ORD. =(

The only "new airplane smell" I've ever smelled was CRJ.
Doug you guys are a trip. Its not the -88 and -90s that smell.....Its the 1970s, 80s and 90s that have those things stinking.
:nana2:
Chock up another point for the always fresh new airplane smell in the frac business.

Even in the cargo bins.
Hahahahaha.....our baggage bins are carpeted :D

PS....Try packing for 7 days that cover Butte to Barbados.

I think I've got 3 or 4 TravelPro hooks somewhere.

If you need a replacement, PM me. I'll see if I can find them. And, no, I won't charge $5.
