What must be in your flightbag?

You absolutely can, unless you state prohibits it for some other reason. In FL, you can carry at an airport, just not the secured area of it.

Now for another serious question as I don't even know where to go look these regs up, but say you rent out of a Class C. Now you're not going into the SIDA, but you have to enter the secured area to access the aircraft. What then? I have a feeling one could get into some very hazy situations with this.

Ask whatever Police have jurisdiction at the airport, I'm sure they'll be happy to tell you. I've only been to a rare few airports in my life where access to the GA ramp required going through a secured area.

not hazy at all! PC46.03 c 2 "Secured Area" means an area of an airport terminal building to which access is controlled by the inspection of persons and property under federal law. only the terminal area is a prohibited area. I fly out of a class C and yes inside the entire fenced area is a secure area, but for the concealed carry, that definition is different.

I have a serious question. I have a conceal and carry permitt. Can I carry a gun when I fly my airplane? Its not addressed in the rules for the conceal and carry law.

YES you can! with one caveat of course check your local state law. Most states Concealed carry are the same, but you should double check. If I go inmto another state, I usually will locate their rules and review them first, before carrying.

They make it again, along with Blackjack and one other type of classic style gum. They make a batch of one type every year apparently so you can only get Beeman's every third year.

A pack of Blackjack is always in my flight kit, I love that junk. I stock up and freeze a few 20 pack cartons when I find it. The candy store in the mall carries it but I also saw it in some store called World Foods (I think) on the mainland.

Oops, 'quick reply' did not credit you.

Thx, (again) for the info.

Cordially,

Why would you want to carry a gun in your airplane? Sorry but I don't get it..
Are you flying in DRC? Not even pilots that fly in Darfur for Airserv carry a gun...

I was just curious. I really never carry a gun except for a few instances. i was just curious how the law worked with that.

In some remote areas, it is not only smart, it may be legally required.

Northern Canada for instance - if your plane goes down, it could take weeks for anyone to reach you. Fending off bears, and getting food become your primary survival needs. Same reasons I want rafts, mirrors, radios and dye markers flying over water.

Depends where you are, and what's appropriate given the climate.
