What is your favorite online scheduling system?

There are quite a few options out there. I'm sure I've not seen all of them...yet :)

Anyhow, looking for what everyone likes using. Either as a renter or owner/employee.

If you happen to know costs, that'd be great to know as well, since a number of the players out there don't like to list their prices online.

And finally, if they all stink, is there a good program to install on my own server instead of going with a fee for service based model that most seem to be.

Thanks,
Josh

I have used myFBO, ScheduleMaster, and SchedulePointe and I would rate them in that order, though ScheduleMaster and SchedulePointe were pretty comparable.

myFBO is very powerful and has a lot of different features such as curriculam, billing and payments, maintenence and a whole lot of management stuff too, as a result I imagine it is uber expensive...

Depends what you need it to do, for basic scheduling either of the other two would work fine, and probably save you some dosh. Alternatively, you might be able to make something work with google calanders.

I have used FlightSchedulePro.com back when I was instructing and it was alright. AF had a contract for all the Aero Clubs so we got stuck with whatever they decided. It was alright is the best I can say. Have no clue about cost. Good luck.

We use a little know company called Kalamazoo Software (www.kal-soft.com)
I tried pretty much every single product that it's there when we first started 5 years ago. As a former IT project manager/system architect functionality and ease of use goes a long way for me.
Major points of Kalamazoo Software:
- The schedule looks like the former paper scheduling books.
- It has a lot of intelligence built into it:
i. You can set up the mx cycles in 5 minutes.
ii. You can adjust functionality according to the student type (pre-solo, student, pilot, etc. )
- You can interact with some vendor software (FBO manager comes to mind)

- You get a lot of business intelligent reports... like cancellation reports , reasons ,e tc.
- You can export contact information to a CSV and make an easy transition to a newsletter publishing via email..

There are tones of other reasons I like this product.. If you are interested , give it a shot..

I guess I can't have a favorite because everywhere I have worked uses Myfbo. I like it, but I have nothing to compare it to.

We use Kal-Soft for our school. 17 planes, 25 instructors, 100-150 students (not all active). I really like the setup. Lots of options and customization for students and airplanes and the way they are listed. The email features for newsletters and or announcements works awesome. Plus all of the instructors and students contact info is readily at hand with it vs. going through Rolodex info. The only con I have is that it doesn't work well with Firefox.

I used flightschedulepro.com for about 4 years renting/ training and thought it was pretty good. Its pretty straightforward and easy to read.

We use schedulebook.com, works well in my opinion. As an employee and a renter I think it is a good system.

Our school uses skyscheduler. Probably like every other one. Everyone's contact info are published on there. We can send mass e-mails. We have it set up where only the instructors can make reservations, the planes get checked out, then checked back in. All the rental costs and billing are done through the website program. What I liked the most is where I could look up from one specific date to another and see my "receipts" for each flight I paid for and print it all out. It came in very handy. We have 7 planes, 12 instructors, and 60-70 students. I don't know off hand what we pay, but I know it's a /monthly basis; we pay so much per N number to put on the scheudle. The guy who runs the entire operation is VERY helpful. When we got a problem, we call him and he fixes the problem while we are still on the phone with him. But so far, great experience with this program.

Our school uses www.AircraftClubs.com
Our renters/students can manage both of our locations (HEF andJYO) they can book planes and instructors and the instructors can see there schedule for many months and years (if they have students that far) and renters/students/instructors can see when planes are maintenced out. We can also send mass e-mails and if renters need e-mail address for instructors as well as other renters/students they can also get the e-mail from the schedule as well.

The schools I've worked at have used Flight Schedule Pro and MyFBO.

Initially I thought FSP was better than MyFBO, but once you learn MyFBO you find it is more powerful and better. MyFBO being able to do Billing and easily keep track of MX times really saved time and money.
As a flight instructor, with MyFBO all I had to do at the end of the lesson fill out the log book and fill in times. With FSP I have to use a program (peach tree) to create an invoice, log the invoice number on a clip board, log the number in the can, put invoice number on my pay sheet, fill in times on my pay sheet and then fill out students log book.

I don't know how much they cost but I bet MyFBO is more expensive because it can do more.

We FlightSchedulePro for the scheduling of aircraft and mass emails but all transactions and logs are done through TotalFBO.
