What information do ramp conrollers use to determin takeoff runways?

I'm just happy if their mic is close enough to their mouth that I can hear them.

A heartfelt “sorry” is in order to everyone that comes to DFW and parks in Term A or low end of Term C.

Our frequency has issues! We know y’all can’t hear us and trust me, it’s frustrating from both sides especially when it’s busy.

There is only one really challenging one in Denver, this individual has to key the mic to think and then after issuing instructions will continue to explain the reasoning behind the decision making. The problem with this is that explanation comes while the aircraft receiving instructions reads them back, hilarity ensues.

May the flying green spaghetti monster help you if it is a deicing day...

They also move around there because I’ve heard this person on both A and C. I waited for what seemed like an eternity at 3W right after the United RJ migration to the new gates at A once with said controller while the poor Icelandic guys just stopped in the middle of the ramp. It really is funny if you can just step back and enjoy the ride of how messed up things can get.

And now that we are in the new gates in SFO, I do miss yelling ahoy!

Yeah she’s the worst... I don’t think they move them around. They all work in the same room and I guess the frequencies get “shared” somehow and you will here all 3 or A and C on our end of the radio even though each plane is on its separate freq. One of them came to indoc and explained one day but I forgot the details. All I know is I’m really happy to be on the A side all the time instead of the B side like my prior job...
