What happens when you dequal?

I have done a little research, but haven't turned up a clear answer. I fly for a 135 company, and I am due for my PC this month. Apparently they are going to let my currency expire, and renew it again in the spring.

Is this just as simple as taking my PC this spring and all is well? I already finishing ground school last month. Thanks for the help.

There is no penalty or additional requirement if your currency expires and you receive a 135.293/297 check later on. Same checking requirements, same 8410 paperwork.

The only difference is that it falls under the "requalification" portion of your operator's training program, which in some cases the training may include additional events. For most operators, requalification is the same as recurrent.

:sarcasm: So far, I have seen nothing happen at all. I even put my letter in a garbage can outside to see if it would start on fire on the day I went dequal, but nothing happened! I was expecting something...maybe some mice scurry in and carry the letter away or an "Agent" appears and takes it, but nothing :(

In all seriousness, like wantfrieswiththat said, I think it falls under your company's training requirements.

Heh. Thanks for the reply. I was mostly wondering if it required a longer ground school like initial, or if the recurrent I just finished would be good enough.
