You're not gonna find much about Sheble's at this forum.

My friend, who's now a check airman at Amflight, successfully and happily got his CFI there.

The Travel Air is a fine Beechcraft product. It's like an A36 Bonanza with two engines rather than a Dutchess.

I've heard bad things about Sheble's but it's not really specific to them, it's more like... "don't get your PPL that fast"... And I've talked to people who instructed there, got additional ratings there, etc. I guess I am looking more at ME time vs. cost and it says "Vmc demo" Is that a bad thing that they only demo it?

The other choices are the old fugly Seneca or the newer Seminole at North Las Vegas. They both cost about the same per hour, but the schools' program costs are like $5k+

Save your money and time don't go at all! Feel free to PM or e-mail at jetpilot@gmail.com and I'll explain in detail what HELL I had to go throught for me Comm. AMEL - Inst. add on and was also going to do CFI/II/MEI all four in the month and certain things came up that have both hurt and have devestated my aviation career. Currently I am twney-four now 3 years later and still recovering from it. I have been so greatful for an opportunity to interview June 21 with Mesa and July 24 with American Eagle thats with what happened too me even with the check rides.

They have escaped being shutdown by the FAA! BOYCOTT THIS PLACE AT ALL MEANS!

Welcome

WOuld a FSDO give out information like that?

Doubtful.

Why would a federal agency say, "We almost shut them down!" only to have something substantial happen and the public asking, "why didn't you shut them down?!".

To all, no PM's, if you've got something, spill it. Don't be a wuss.

I want to do this as cheap as safely possible, but if I have to travel too far, that defeats the "cheap" part. ATP might work at $2,795 + Examiner.

Nah, it just drives me crazy on an aviation website when someone says, "I have something aviation-related you may want to hear but we all may benefit from, PM me and I'll tell you in private".

Daer Dough,
Please don;t be too mean to this guy or he won't tell me.
Thanx.

HAHAHA...Pilot 754:

You'll put ALL your personal info on here (well, you did leave your SS# off), including confidential e-mails from perspective employers, and you won't tell us what you have on a possibly shady flight school? Come on, grow a pair!! Spill what you have so everybody knows what's going on there. If you're worried about bad-mouthing them, too late...you already have. t's worse to just say don't go there, they suck, than to give an objective criticism of a school.

I got all my CFI ratings at Sheble's. It is not a school to go to to learn the fundamentals. They do accelerated programs for people that want to finish up fast. The plans are old, (Beech Travelair!) but other than that I liked the school. After my MEI test, they even let me ride in one of the planes from Kingman to Las Vegas, and I got some extra multi time!

guess ill give my two cents. I know one of the DE's in nevada last i heard he had quit giving rides from shebles because of lacking quality in students. he did say they used to be a top notch operation. The travelair is a fun plane did my multi pvt in it. I did use ATP in vegas for my MEI ....IMO ATP does a good job as long as you study the material and come prepared

I'll post all the in depth details later today. I have a 6 hrs XC that I need to leave for. And for slushie I'll send you an e-mail.

Take Care

Dude, 4 days is really short for a multi add-on. Why would anyone want to squeeze it into 2?? If you can do it in two days, you were ready two days ago!

I did my CFII at Sheble's, because I knew it was a place you could go to and come home in the alotted time with the rating in your pocket. However, that doesn't mean their training is bad. In fact, I learned a lot in my short time out there. Great people out there. A guy named Eddie did my checkride; He's HOT!! :D

Now, if that didn't sell you, nothing will. :)

Good luck which ever way you decide to go.
