What do you like about flying?

molecules of "People smell" ?

I dunno, I just point the airplane where they tell me and the boxes stay quiet.

I might be weird but I throughly enjoy watching the flaps and slats extend and retract in all phases of flight.

Also landing is by far better then taking off anyday in any type of plane!

I love how mentally intense flying can be. That's not to say I like being stressed...just that I love how it can completely take over my mind while I'm doing it. Shooting an ILS to minimums in actual, arriving into a Class B airport, teaching a pre-solo student how to land, etc...for those few minutes I'm not thinking about anything except the task at hand. Everything else in life naturally gets blocked out. It's peaceful, in a weird way.

Ii do it cause i was dumb one day and got a huge loan to learn how to do it.

"$400 a month...i can pay that off no problem, hell i will be making 200k in like ten years! Whats $400 per month for ten years? Sounds like a hell of an investment to me, sign me up sallie mae!" - me(6 years ago)

Keeeeeeeeeep looking........

There's a lot of F/As out there that wouldn't touch a pilot with somebody else's 10 foot pole ;)

that will change then the F/A's see me. :D

but then again ill probably be 30 and look like 50 due to all the crap that goes on.

(Not all, of course. There's cool F/As like me out there too. Wait, I'm furloughed, never mind!)

I know there are a lot of F/A's that will SAY that......

The challenges, the view, some of the people, lol.. knowing i'm doing something that many view as downright insane...

also add:

getting chicks

quiet time without distractions (seriously, flying gets me very zen....so relaxing)

no way, i totally agree. its relaxing to get so focused and into the immediate tasks that you dont have time to be worrying about other nonsense back on the ground (bills, girlfriend, taking out the trash, getting the car fixed, etc)
