Guard police, fuel trend monitoring, gossiping, speculation, more fuel trend monitoring, more gossiping, more speculation...

What did you expect?

"Excuse me while I whip this out."

I like to review the Fatigue Risk Mitigation Plan the FAA approved for my airline. It says you should drink a lot of coffee, engage in conversation as much as possible, get up to stretch your legs a lot, turn the cockpit lights all on, and turn the radios up to full blast. Good times....

I look forward to crossing the next waypoint. Always a milestone when you reach one. It's why I really hate getting direct somewhere that's halfway across the country. I seriously have to wait 2 hours to watch the autopilot do its next turn?!?

Oh and read the SOP.

"Amazing how you can sleep with engines hollerin' next to you - and only stop sleeping if and when they stop hollerin'!" - Dan Roman

Wait for the exact moment someone says something on guard, ATC folk not excluded, and yell YAR YOU BE ON GUARD ON MATEY!!! After all someone has to pirate the open skies. Seriously though, USA Today crossword. If the hotel doesn't have it, it is easy and I finish it way too quick or I can't find a free one on a terminal seat, I just contemplate how miserable and boring the job of being an airline pilot is and how I wish I could start over at a sales job that pays $35k 9-5 M-F. But no seriously....angry birds and solitaire. Actually all 3 are true and if I get the luxury of enjoying a meal at cruise I make sure I drag that meal out for as long as I possibly can. GD this job is sooooooo boring. How do we possibly stay awake.

/end of rant
