What do Controllers do During Down Time?

im kinda late I know but this is a funny thread..at my old job we used to do a lot of lifeguard flights and there were times when i wondered the same thing....we did a lot of late night flying when we were the only one on the freq or at the airport for that matter..lol..Heres a question though for the tracon/center guys...are you always required to sit at your position even if there was no one in or remotely near your sector??? Lots of times Id call for clearance when towers were closed and had to wait for a while before getting a response:D lol j/k
