That regs saves me from impulsiveness I guess. Haha
Why do 6500 when you can do 7500?Did you think they were running around with only 6500lbs in the back of an MD-11?

I actually disagree with this advice whole-heartedly. If you aren't at a place right now that you can retire from I would strongly suggest looking at all that meet that definition and apply with copious amounts of networking. The music will stop again. You may not get hired at your dream for whatever reason so pick a "safety school" or 4....As a vet of more than a couple of operations, there are always reasons to complain, etc. There is never a legitimate reason to go fly at the next joint for crap money and a "chance at the big time". Particularly now. If you wanna go to DeltaVarna, your number will come up, sooner or later. Going to Neff-one-point-two will not speed the process, I predict. Go over to APC and peruse the threads about Southern. Then take them seriously. Then think about the fact that this is the new and better version of their modus operandi. Then have that last beer and plan your Escape in a rational way. I've never worked for a-holes, not once. And that's why.
Kind of serious, mostly kiddingWidebody Syndrome.
Luckily the subpart this operation runs under is more-or-less regulation free. Unlimited duty days for everyone!
But I struggle to understand how Southern, Kalitta, and esp. Western Global have any "qualified" applications coming in.
I know plenty of 135 shops that love those people. There are still a lot of pilots out there with qualifications and experience, but with black marks on their records that make them more or less ineligible at the legacies or FedEx/UPS/Atlas.
Unless you're good.Tough to pull an insurance burn......people tend to skimp and get caught. They leave large bread-crumb type clues that any first day fire investigator will know is a rig job.![]()
I used to fly DC-9 trips that never left Michigan.
Richman
Do you ever get the HNL-OAK-MIA ferry flights? They seem to happen pretty regularly, a 717 came into OAK a few hours ago actually. All my DC9 (well, 717) trips stay in the same state.
But honestly, we used to do 4 day trips I'm the crj that never left North Carolina.
