Does anybody know any regional airlines that base there pilots in New York because I dont realy want to relocate.

If you're not willing to relocate (or at least commute), I would seriously reconsider the profession of airline pilot!

Bases come and go and change at the drop of a hat. Displacements, restructuring, mergers & the like can all cause your 'home' base to disappear overnight.

I hope I can commute :x:

Yeah, if I'm making chump change I'm not going to be living in the armpits and crotches of America.

Colorado or bust!

Newark based pilot here. It's actually our most junior base. Don't know how much time you have, or if you are actually looking at regionals, but ExpressJet is still hiring. Very good chance you'd get Newark right out of training.

colgan has NY bases. no clue where the junior folk go though but there are several guys that work there and frequent this site. so im sure they could answer that

Oh man, if you're not open to relocation, this might not be the profession for you.

from what I've heard about Eagle the chances of getting any particular base depend on how old you are since for each class bases are awarded oldest-youngest.

"were pilots are based"
"Its not that Im "
"that base there pilots in New York because I dont realy "

English lesson, anyone??

Colgan has bases in White Plains, Albany, Ithaca, Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, and Binghamton for NY.

True, but at least he/she is in NY. But you're right things change especially with a regional airline. It pays to be flexible you'll keep your sanity that way, or at least some of it!

Like Chicaga. I'm EWR based with XJT as well. If you have questions shoot. I enjoy flying in the NE but am looking to move elsewhere and commute. If it wasn't for my wife and her job we could never afford to live up here.
