ways to go from CPL to 1000TT w/o CFI'ing?

Sub as in substitute.......Pay attention we're gonna have a quiz later...

You sure seemed to build a decent amount of time as a "sub" pilot.

Answer to second completely off-topic question.......dust off my class "A" CDL and make $55k truckin until the market opens up again.....you?

I already make about 4 times that in a non-aviation job so I am not too worried about the "F" word.

Sounds like a rough life. One of these days ima have to pick up a DFW over night and you can come drink me under the table...again, I'm sure.

Ahhh meritboy, when are you gonna learn. You just don't know as much as you think you do about people. I was hired at 580tt. My tt today is after flying for my regional for nearly a year. You imply tnings from too little information all too often dude. In fact, you are really good at being really bad at trying to appear telepathicly informed as to the deep details of people's lives....So...don't quit your day job homy.

Wow, I know somebody JUST like that on these forums...

Hmm...

You have 1500TT, got hired with 580TT, spent about 3 months in training, and somehow have racked up 920 hours in about 9 months? Yikes! Good on you if you're really flying over 100 hours a month.

When you gonna learn RightSeatGirl, you come across as a little self righteous.

Then stop looking in the mirror Jtrain. Notice how the younger guys that are not threatened by someone who has a different opinion about things then they do decided not to pick a fight with me? Hmmm, must be that what I said struck a chord of self familiarity within you. Interesting.....

I'll make no secret of this...I don't like you. In fact. I think you are probably the biggest instigator on the board and you spend too much time finding insult in what people say and not enough time listening to them. Being right, is far less important then you think. You have a lot to learn kid. And when you finally realize that your obvious education and intelligence does not mean you always know best you may actually one day have something to say worth listening to. The process of learning about yourself, about life and about others is ongoing and endless. Stop trying so hard to be the "cool witty guy" and you may actually start to really be one.

Training was six weeks dude. And once again you prove my point for me...I fly on my days off an average of 15 to 20 hours a month. Your loosin this contest man...quit while you're behind. And BTW, it's almost 11 months now.

Actually...I got my PVT in 1991. Probably when you were still playing with your GI Joe's.

Relevance?

You were still hired with 580TT. You either have built a ton of time very quickly or somewhat stretched your current total time. ;)

EDIT: Nice change in your post. You obviously saw it made zero sense. As for your time accumulation, it's still very impressive.

EDIT: Nice change again. You obviously feel compelled to defend yourself. Just out of curiosity, what kind of flying are you doing on your days off? You must eat, sleep, and fly. With 15 days off at best, you're flying hours everyday while off duty.

EDIT: Third time is a charm!! 11 months total comes out to about 9 months and two weeks flying 121 post training, with your side flying you're still averaging 82 hours a month or so. You must have sat zero reserve and been awarded a decent line since the get go. Nice!

Good to hear.

EDIT: I should clarify myself. A long time ago, in a land called Kalamazoo, I realized that people don't communicate very well over the internet. I realized that people will read into things too far, or not enough, and have an incredibly hard time trying to figure out what a person is like just by reading some ASCII text on an internet forum.

Then I started meeting some people from the internet, from this forum, and realized that most people were NOTHING like I thought they were. I realized, at that point, to stop judging people before I meet them, and to stop putting them into little boxes and deciding what they were like. I found that when I did this, I was wrong.

Then I realized that it doesn't matter what your experience level is, it won't be good enough for somebody. I realized that when you give an opinion, and then back it up with experience, all some people can do is attack your age or how your experience isn't as good as THEIR experience.

Then I realized, IT'S THE INTERNET, and to not put very much stock in what people that won't uncloak themselves from the online world, and simply lob "witty" comments at others without putting up much substance.

So what can I say, your wit doesn't impress me, your attitude doesn't impress me and your need to do, well, whatever it is you're doing doesn't impress me. But don't worry! If you show up to NJC, I'm not going to say to myself, "OMGZ that's RightSeatGirl from the forums! That XXXXXXXX, I need to hate her!" I'll probably say, "Oh hey, how ya doin', need a beer? I can get you a beer!"

So as I said earlier, ask me at NJC, I've got some stories to tell. You may or may not like them, and you may or may not discount them because of my age, but they're still the stories that make up my rationale for what I believe, and whether you discount them or not will not change me, or my experiences.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Meritflyer....you are just trying so hard to make me out to be everything you are yourself. That's why I changed the post dude....I read what you said too fast. Never claimed I'm above misreading what someone says. You know what the difference is between you and me...I can admit I'm self rightous. You just can't can you. Admitting one has a problem is step one in solving it.

Take it to PM guys...thread is probably going to get locked now...nice going.

WORD

It is the internet, it has little if any relevance in the real world. You wouldn't know me if I walked past you on the street; well actually John and about 80 other people on here would.

I'd probably stare and you say, "Jesus, I know that guy somehow....how do I know that guy."

Then you'd start talking with me and I'd act like I knew you, because I mean I know that I know you, but I have no idea who you are.

3 days later I'd realize who you are.

This happens to me, a lot. Seriously. I have the worst memory in the freaking world. I remember really weird details about people, but can't remember their names or how I know all these weird details about their life. Like I'm more apt to remember that you're a Portland commuter who is based in Cleveland, flew C-130's in the Marine's before you came to X company and you have a wife named Stacy than to remember a persons name.
