Wanda does it

Anybody seen that show? I'm watching the one where she wants to be a pilot.

She gets off of a flight from Miami and complains about the turbulence and then the captain from the flight happens to walk by and she starts tearing into him. That guy should have smacked the black right off of her. She was annoying as hell.

Anyways....

I saw that too. I'm hoping that her tirade was merely a form of entertainment, which would mean the captian was just acting. But...I doubt that was the case. You could really tell the frustration in the captain's voice. I mean, how are you suppsed to react to someone blaming you of "hitting every (edit) pothole in the sky" and then accusing you of being drunk. I am suprised (if this was actually real) that there aren't any legal ramifications to follow her border-line "verbal assault" of that captain. Perhaps she should be thankful for the skills of that captain to get her safely on the ground. But that wouldn't be entertaining, so why would I even think of it.

And then, the thing that really got to me (ie. made me laugh) was when she says "I kin be a paaahhhlit!" and then when they show the Cessna landing, the CFI is in full control, and Wanda is looking out the window at the scenery saying, "I'm doooin it dog!" Wow, what piloting skills!! I, for one, was really impressed by the way she proved how she "could be a pilot"! Like a Cessna and an airliner are in the same boat even if she did even touch the controls on that disco flight!

I, obviously, am biased due to my passion for aviation.

Just watched the little clip on comedy central's site, where she's bitching him out. Either he (pilot) did a darn good job of acting or it was real. I would also expect some sort of legal action, especially with her accusing him of drinking.

"slander"
1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

I bet he could make the case about her being "injurious" to his reputation.

its a show for idiots.. but i mean damn.. her taxing skills were like perfect

anyways, i think the pilot was acting because he only had a breifcase with him, usually when you see pilots at airports they are dragging all their stuff with them

Duh, of course it's for entertainment, it was on Comedy Central for cracked dice. I think people overreacted to this episode. Does anybody remember how much work and studying it takes to reach your first solo. I don't think Wanda Sykes went through every single one of her flight lessons being like "I'm a pilot now dawg, I got mad flyin skilz." What you see on tv was only a small part of her training and the exchanges we see with her instructor are of course planned ahead.

What you don't see is the majority of the training prior to her solo because it is more serious work and thereby not very funny. CC isn't gonna air segments that aren't meant to be funny. Plus her instructor must have felt she had enough ability and respect for aviation to allow her to solo, we just didn't really see that side of her during the show.

Now whether or not Wanda Sykes is entertaining is a entirly different can of worms....

Guys she didn't actually solo...she stopped at the end of the runway.

I wasn't particularly offended or anything by the show...they could've shown a bit more about how it's not the pilots fault for "hitting potholes" but I have confidence most will realize it's a comedy! I mean she taxied the aircraft (supposedly) all the way to Vegas cause she said she was gonna take her friends there. No matter how idiotic the non-aviation public is when it comes to aviation, I seriously doubt anyone actually thinks they can DO that!

Haven't you seen the one where she goes to work as a prostitute in Vegas??

I believe this was posted a while ago with similar reactions. That women is such an idiot.

Definitely not funny. I liked what Bill Cosby said to her when she tried to do a little routine with him. He told her to "try speaking english" and he wasn't smiling.

Now Bill Cosby is one of my favorites. I didn't like it when he was talking about white people on a tv interview though.

Talking about tv, I just noticed that "b*tch" isn't censored anymore. What's next?

Funny how people like certain celebrities, until they strike a nerve LOL. Not picking on you Brian, just something I noticed amongst us all, for the most part, in this society.

What could he have done if in fact it was real? I think he handled it pretty good. If that was to happen can the pilot get security and have escorted out of the airport?

i dont think she even really taxied the plane by herself, it never showed the left seat empty and she taxied with both hands on the yoke, it was all rehearsed, and i wouldnt want her flying me around!

You guys have to realize that this is purely just a stunt to get laughs just like all her other skits. No, she was not flying the plane. Her intention was not to become a pilot, but get some ratings and it looks like she succeeded.
