For my class project I need to visit a tower and write about my experience. The most local tower to me is CNO. I was wondering if anyone had any information how to go about contacting tower for a vist?
Thanks!

909-597-1703 Chino control tower phone #

Call them and explain your situation, they might ask for some documentation.

Side note: CNO is a very nice tower (from what I hear) enjoy it if (hopefully you do) get to go.

yep, just call them up letting them know you want a tour.

I have been into RFD tower 3 times now, and they just needed a name and the time that I would be showing up.

It made for a weird 2nd date with this girl I am kinda with...

But its ok, she wants to be a controller after high school. lol

The Ellington tower (EFD) folks are awesome. I like the way they do business. I've also been to Galveston (GLS) as well. Kudos to guys who do an excellent job.

im not sure what the rules for visiting an FAA tower, but here in MLB(contract tower) to visit all you have to do is give them a call and state your purpose and they will be more then happy to assist... awesome folks.

At TKI (contract tower) they are always happy to have you. Just be sure to call ahead to ensure that they're not busy (it'd be best to go on an off day).

Every controller I've talked to also really likes to answer questions, so don't be shy!

mavsfan and myself went up and talked to the guys for about and hour on a day they werent busy. If you ask questions, they will answer you so like he said dont be afraid to ask, and most importantly, have fun!:D

I got up and chat with them all the time. Usually a batch of chocolate chip cookies and they're putty in your hands. Lol. I love the TKI tower guys.

see now, I think it'd be a little weird if a guy walked up to ex-navy controllers and offered them cookies :laff: maybe thats just me

I love the TKI tower guys.

they're a great group of guys. I talk to them all the time over the freq as if they're friends. Once they get to know you, its nice.

I called CNO tower and they said they would get back to me, so I guess i'll wait and hope they call.

If that doesn't work out, i'll give Fullerton a call. It's a contract tower so maybe it's not as strict? I don't know!

Only as good as if you give them a call. You never know until you call, just say you would like to set up a tour and usually the secretary, or if the cab answers, the controller will tell you who to talk to. I got to visit ZME last year and I look forward to going back one day soon. I would rather hit MEM TRACON/TWR prior though. Maybe I will bring some cookies and see what happens.......
