Not the same requirements we have. 20/20 corrected, 20/40 uncorrected max for Pilot. Not sure about NFO, that could be 20/100000000 uncorrected....no idea really

In 03 it was slightly different. Needs of the Navy, you know how that goes. And anything is possible w a waiver. It might be different if you're prior enlisted, also. I just remember that I was eligible as an E even with the poor eyesight.

It wasn't. Actually it had changed from a flat 20/20 uncorrected requirement in years previous, to the 20/40 uncorr to 20/20 corrected in that timeframe. I only know this because that is when I started NROTC, and I felt like the luckiest guy ever because my timing saved me from un-perfect eyes (I have 20/25 in one of them naturally). Being/having been a prior has no bearing whatsoever on the requirements.....only thing that is good for is a 29 y/o age waiver, and of course O-1E pay Not trying to annoy everyone with technicalities, but I don't want the guy to get bad gouge w/r/t the basic requirements.
