hen teaser
Not sure if anyone has posted this up before, but heres a cockpit video of the VX flyby at SF's fleetweek last October. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun if you ask me.

Hmmm... Maybe Sir B. will kick in enough money this year so they can buy a tripod.

(and what's up with the porn music?)

The person in the jumpseat with the camera must have had his other hand pre-occupied, probably someone from airliners.net.

You can't really tell from the video, but the gear was down on the first past, so they came in kind of slow rocking the wings. The gear was up on the second past and they flew by faster.

...they couldn't get the hometown airline???
Their headquarters is in Burlingame, the city right next door to where I live. Meanwhile United keeps turning SFO into more and more of an OO hub and less and less of a mainline hub. Hell we just started SFO-MCI today and we're even getting 2 of their SAN flights in a week or two! Nobody out here calls UA our hometown airline.

Umm... They sort of are. United hasn't been the home town airline for a LONG time now.

. . .okay, wow didn't know all that. SFO, sounds a lot like Delta's CVG.

Does United still have asian or atlantic international departures out of SFO?

International wise, UA still has several destinations. FRA, LHR, NRT, HKG, SYD, KIX, MEX, SJD, PVG, PEK, PVR, and SIN. Still plenty, however this is just a shell of what they used to fly from here. But domestic wise, the majority of non-hub and flights under 3 hours are all Skywest. Hell I've only been at Skywest for 1 year and in that time EUG, RNO, BUR, ONT, and MFR have turned all Skywest and United's long time SFO-Socal routes will probably all be Skywest within the next year or two with the exception of LAX. Its just sad to see routes that have been flown for 30 years by mainline 737s go to the lowest bidder.

would have been sweet to see today...
If we stuck around another 10 minutes we probably would have seen a WN go around.:p

Heres a shot of it tho.
