nooooooooooooooooooooo way! I mean-- such optimum driving conditions...and we all know to go out driving before the snow plow has fixed the streets :sarcasm: .

pfft snow and ice, big deal. its called "using your brain to adapt driving style to changing conditions"

something clearly these people could not grasp.

Haha, it was pretty funny watching the news. People here can't drive, they can't drive even when its dry out, what do you expect about snow. The news was pretty pathetic, at least I got to stay home and laugh at all the awesome drivers in portland at their best! :insane:

Good thing then Grand Forks doesn’t have hills to deal with (the Columbia bridge over the train yard doesn’t count). I mean, some people here suck at driving on snow/ice on flat roads!

:tmyk:

What the ####!!!!?!!?! That video pissed me off on SO many levels. Granted that is a lot worse than your typical snow and ice.

Why the HELL would you try to keep driving after you almost got in an accident? That guy in the SUV trying to get out of it by gassing it was a tool bag. The person in the van that was stopped but continued to drive was a • bag! :mad:I love the sliding in a straight line right into parked cars business. You know you're gona crash into something, grab the damn e-brake and spin the car into the curb or something!!!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

And to think, my car almost got stuck in the sand at the beach this weekend. Darn that 80 degree weather. ;)

I did that once with my '83 Honda Accord. Through the help of a bunch of surfers, my car could travel the 100 feet through the sand that I drove into and back onto the road. I'd driven on sand many times before, but this sand was ultra soft and thick.

Well in the video at least the BMW made it around the turn without sliding around and crashing :D

It's because all BMW drivers are better drivers. :sarcasm:

But you know that when you have a 4x4 SUV it's much safer in icy conditions! :sarcasm:

I think the guy in the volvo xc90 at the beginning was just trying to make sure his car was totalled. Too bad he was caught on tape. :D

I've finally calmed down I think. I get pretty worked up when people dont possess the most basic car control skills. There are some situations where trying to drift might get you out of trouble. If you're sliding around with so little effort though like in this video, I would think it would be a no brainer to stay off the damn gas!!!

Speaking of accidents, did anyone see the accident on 6th Ave North this afternoon around 1 o'clock? Stationwagon and a minivan were pretty busted up and parts were all over the street. UPD had a car there too. I had no idea how they could hit each other though...

Yeah, seriously the guy in the SUV is a dumbass! I hate SUV drivers but nothing can top my rage towards those who drive Hummers :argue:

Prolly a Ford LTD faux-wood-paneled stationwagon against a Dodge Minivan, not surprised. Typical drivers here.

The other day I saw a Ford Freestar stop for a red light on 42nd and Demers. She sat there for about 10 seconds at the red light, then out of the blue decided it'd be great to step on the gas and go right through the intersection narrowly missing another car zooming by at around 40MPH. There wasn't even any sort of false indication of a green light, such as a green light glare sneaking out from a perpindicular facing traffic light. Oh well... it was still pretty funny.

If I were a cop, I'd nail her for the red light, reckless driving, and upon seeing her in court recommend to the judge a 1 year suspension of her driver's license...along with a 3 week course at Skip Barber Racing School to teach her driving skills.

Probably not used to the traffic of the big city of Grand Forks... "oh you know Hatton (pronounced Heeeahtton) doesn't have this much traffic, donchya know. I get soooo scared when I drive my Caprice Classic over der in Grand Forks, the big city, yah see."

It looked like those conditions were pretty rough, even for someone with a head on their shoulders. Needless to say I got a great laugh out of watching that!!

Oh I know. I love people that fall into the whole AWD marketing thinking they will also stop better. The ONLY thing AWD does is get you going better, it does nothing for off throttle cornering or braking. If anything AWD hurts you tremendously because of the extra 400-600 pounds of dead weight.
