Yes, I know you dont have a great amount to choose from. But what jobs can someone with just a CPL/SE do?

I'm not looking to jump into the airlines, fly corporate or instruct at the moment. Just trying to get an entry level position, part time/full time, so I can keep flying until I add more ratings and get more experience.

This topic has been covered quite a few times, use the search.

C'mon. Why put that on here. Why open the thread if you don't want to contribute?

OP:

I did a search for "VFR Single Engine Jobs for Low Time Pilots" and came up with a lot of BS threads, but through the muck I found some stuff; check these out:

http://forums.jetcareers.com/jobs-available/31444-need-a-job.html

http://forums.jetcareers.com/jobs-available/41655-jobs.html

http://forums.jetcareers.com/jobs-available/40276-jobs.html

http://forums.jetcareers.com/jobs-available/52709-pipeline-pilot-position-available.html

Couple of the threads on the FIRST page that I found. Anyways, good luck to your search, that's all I gotta say (heck, what I got involves mostly luck). Hopefully you'll find something you like :)

Cropdusting? That's a lot of job for a low time guy. I did the skydiving route before instructing. It was fun, but it gets old after awhile.

It's funny, you always hear people recommend "cropdusting" or "flying boxes" for the super low time guys, when in actuality those are the jobs with the highest minimums.

Really I guess Its more about knowing the right people, bc I was offered a dusting job at 400tt. I just don't like flying near the power lines.

"airspeed is life, Altitude is insurance"

crop dusting, banner tow
i would say dusting is:

1. who you know. i don't know anyone, hence i really can't get into it.
2. take a lot of skill and experience. not that a low time guy can't have the necessary skill, but they don't have the experience.

I watched a few crop dusters going at it, once from the air even. And that is some crazy stuff. they were hitting this little field with powerlines on every side. yikes.

Is there some sort of "Ag Pilot Network"?
Looks like everything happens under the desk in this industry?

Market seems to be well "grassed". Every job that pops up during the next few months will be something special. Just talked to a banner guy, and besides charging you 3000 dollars upfront for the endorsement he makes no guarantees to have work after you are done.

He wants at least 100-150 hours of TW time, to even look at people.

Yeah, that is just useless unless you wanna do that for years. Kinda reminds me of this place in the Carolinas. What a rip. I'd spend the money on the CFI way before this. It don't sound like he needs pilots at all just looking to make more cash.

I have a glider towing job set up for me the day I get my CPL.

I get asked every other weekend if I have my Commercial yet. :banghead:

Need a bit more time and a few more months of age though.
