VFR into ORD with an Arrow

A video that I just put together with some footage, pictures, and ATC audio from a flight I did a few weeks ago. Flying a rented Arrow in for a full stop/taxi back at O'Hare on runway 28 around 9pm.

Thanks, and I just had to dig through the liveatc.net archives. Which is why some of the things that I am saying on the ground are static-ish.

That was a cool video. Is O'Hare verry accomodating for light GA aircraft?

Thanks, and regarding GA at ORD. They are usually surprisingly "cool" with it. This was my second time going in there. The first time it was around 11pm, coming in from Detroit in a 172, just asking they let us in. This trip, I filed IFR for a 8:30p or so arrival, but was denied on that one. After dinner at Schaumburg before start-up, I called Chicago Approach on the phone and they told us that if we waited 15 minutes they could get us in. So we called them up 15 minutes later to confirm, they spread the word, and we were cleared right into the B and vectored around onto final. Both times the controllers were always very cool and friendly about it. Even the few times that I have been denied (usually earlier in the day) they are polite and apologetic about it, and even recommend a time to come back.

I think I've been working in airport ops too long... while you were on short final, I couldn't help but count the somewhat large number of approach lights that were OTS.

That's some cool video there! It reminds me of when I did a touch-and-go at PHX on rwy 7L in a Piper Seminole a few years back. Of course there wasn't that much traffic in and out at the time I did it, and it was also on my 300 nm x-country night flight for Commercial. It was really cool though! Thanks for sharing!
