Vasectomy Questions...

Hm...

Great sex or abstinence?

(great sex or abstinence, great sex or abstinence, great sex or abstinence...

Sex and Absenthe for me.

You know another alternative to this birth control and vasectomy stuff is abstinence. Despite having women throw themselves at me on a regular basis, I have remained sex-free since I was 15.

I don't know what I find harder to believe--you practicing abstinence :whatever: or women throwing themselves at you!  :p :D

Ouch!!!! Are you suggesting I may be stretching the truth? I am very capable of abstinence as I am a strong and disciplined person. I even went to PF Changs today and didn't have dessert. The waitress did in fact throw herself at me more than once. Actually I think she kept tripping as I stuck my leg out but that is purely conjecture. WildCougar, are you aware that I am a big time airline captain and that my words should not be challenged? I am pretty sure the rule book says just that....

Rulebook? RULEBOOK! You certainly don't think I pay attention to such things, do you, Captain?! :D

Guess not. I suppose I will have to aim my charms elsewhere to someone who isn't aware that I am full of s...

And I was so hoping you would feel sorry for my abstinence story and offer some counseling of sorts.

After surgery there is a little pain that some Vicodin and a few beers can fix. The chronic pain and painful ejaculation are extremely uncommon.

Mommy always told me that mixing alcohol with prescription drugs was bad for my tumtum.

...she also told me that if I knocked a hoe up she'd BVR bitch slap my ass in to next Tuesday.

Speaking of BC, does anyone have the average 'failure' rates? The commercials say 99.9% effective, and I say "Hokay!"

Unless they are prescribed:nana2:

Typical Contraceptive Failure Rates

  • Implants and injectables
    2-4%
  • Oral contraceptives
    9%
  • Diaphragm and cervical cap
    13%
  • Male condom
    15%
  • Periodic abstinence
    22%
  • Withdrawal
    26%
  • Spermicides
    28%
Pretty scarey:yup:

:yeahthat: ExACTly why both the wife and I decided to get snipped. She had hers the day after the recent delivery, and mine is mid August.

Are you going for the 'snip snip' (scissors) or the "chew chew chew" laser beam?

Why both of you? I guess you want to be super, SUPER sure...? Or had she already done hers, and then you learned there's still a CHANCE she could get pregnant (and maybe in a dangerous way)?

Are those for first year use? I know the oral contraceptives announce 1st year and not much else? Do they get more effective after that, as I know it takes some time once of them to be fertile again? Can you buy insurance against unwanted pregnancies? I'd sign up!!

The first month on OC is the only month you need back up, unless she's been careless with more than 2 pills. After the first month, effectivness is as good as it's gonna get. It does NOT necessarily take time once not taking the pill anymore to become pg. I got pg with both my boys within 2 months after not taking the pill anymore.

There are some women's bodies that do not tolerate the pill well, and on some, it's ineffective. I have a friend who got pg twice while on the pill. She was married, and they'd planned on having kids, just not yet. Ooops. Body chemistry is a funny thing. ;)

Goin for the old fashioned nip/tuck.

We talked about it, and we KNOW we want this kid to be our last, 2 is plenty for us. This one was kind of unexpected, but we absolutely adore her and are extremely grateful for her. But another? No way! We wanna be super duper sure!
